Interesting take on JD Davison's SL.
Spinella is a frequent contributor to the Athletics' draft and college coverage with Sam Vecenie.
I wasn't as high on Davison's performance from the games that I watched, but Spinella is clearly considering more than just what the final box score says. It's true that Davison did deliver a lot of accurate passes, some of which probably would have been assists with better teammates. Also, scoring guards usually go off in summer league because they control the ball and are playing against makeshift defenses. Davison had a harder task of trying to actually be a distributor first.
I think part of the reason Celts fans were more muted is because we really wanted to see improved shooting and finishing around the basket. Also, the 10 TO game right after he signed another two-way cast a pall over all the good things he did.
