Is Taurean Prince a solid bench backup that we need? If he could be had for that 5 million slot on a multi-year contract with the first year guaranteed. I think he'd be a fit for what we need.

Nope. T Prince has been disappointing everywhere he has gone in his career. He is a below average bench player.

T Prince can eat some minutes. He can provide deep bench insurance. But he cannot be a leading bench player on a contender. He just isn't good enough.

Never became the defender you wanted him to be. A middle of the pack defensive SF who becomes below average defensively at PF due to his lack of size and rebounding. Offensively, a below average ball-handler and passer. A solid outside shooter who provides little else and more solid than high level as a shooter (unlike Hauser).

I'd rate Hauser > T Prince at SF and T Prince is a liability as a backup PF.

I want JRich, although time will tell how much he gets paid.  We're limited to offering him about $4.7 - $4.9 million per year, apparently.  Non taxpayers can offer up to $12 million.

I'd like Richardson over Prince if you can get him for that money...

I'd also go for Eric Gordon over Prince if he's all in on that 5 million dollar spot. You can't have too many shooters.

I think both Gordon and Richardson will get more than $5m.

Off the top of my head, I can see Gordon ending up in Memphis (they'll need shooting) and Richardson going to Cleveland (they need a wing). Clear roles and better money available.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

You are probably right but the money will dry up pretty quickly and there will be some guys looking for a spot.

I'm in the Prince vs Old Man Gordon supporter category.  Going to need a replacement for GWill, he's gone.

Last year, statistically, they were too close to call in comparison.

GWill 8.1 PPG, 4.6 RPG, 1.7 APG, .454 FG%, .395 3P%, .770 FT%
Prince:  9.1 PPG, 2.4 RPG, 1. 6APG, .467 FG%, .381 3P%, .844 FT%

I think Prince can be had for cheap and he'd have a position on need on our team.

I also want Josh Richardson

I agree but money will be a major issue.
