Wemby gonna need to add 30 pounds or more if he wants to play in the NBA. If he's getting bullied by summer league players what's gonna happen against real NBA centers?

I never got the over the top hype "he's the next lebron!" Every year we hear that. So was Wiggins.

Maybe he will maybe he won't. But most of the time all the draft hype is to get people to be interested. Then years down the line we look at the results and say "omg how did we miss this guy!" Or "so and so is a bum!"

It's because of his height and the fact that he doesn't dribble like Tacko so he's not something people have really seen before, other than Porzingis and Holmgren (and KD). Holmgren drew the same interest last year, then he got injured in summer league and missed the entire season and dropped off the media radar. Wemby's a good ball handler for his height, but he's not going to win any ball handling awards, he's not a 7-5 guard. And his shooting is very ordinary, .275 from 3 and .460 overall is nothing to write home about. With those numbers I would struggle to call him a stretch 4. Porzingis and Holmgren, albeit shorter, are much better from 3. His footwork is probably better than those two guys though.

BUT...he's 19, has a lot of growing to do and scope to improve. That's probably where the excitement is coming from, because of the potential, plus he seems to have the right attitude. He's just raw and unfinished right now, at least offensively. LeBum, kind of like Banchero, had an NBA body coming into the NBA. This kid is like a beanpole, he needs to put on a lot of muscle as you mention. Holmgren apparently put on 13 pounds his year out of the game, and I think he probably needs to put more on, but not too much or he might start having lower leg problems. Same with Victor.

So we probably can't call Victor a Wembust quite yet - he can keep learning English and not have to switch to Chinese for now  :police:
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Wiggins was not hyped like Lebron or wemby, and it wasn’t even particularly close. Wiggins was a top level prospect and I believe even on sports illustrated in college or high school but that is a much more common hype level than Lebron and wemby which is like every 20 years.

Wiggins and Parker were fairly heavily hyped as the next LeBron & Carmelo, respectively. So it's true that Wiggins was literally positioned as 'the next LeBron'.

It's also true that the level of hype was relatively subdued compared to James (which was just absurd) and Wemby.

Wiggins was never compared to Lebron. McGrady maybe, but not Lebron. Not to my memory.

Does Jalen Hardy pass?

26min 14 FGA 3 FTA 3 TO 20pts 1 assist

I am just watching the late part of the game. I haven't seen him doing much with his passing. Guy looks a gunner.

Hardy reminds me a bit of Dajuan Wagner. Obviously a better outside shooter. Just the body. The phsicality. The explosiveness. That is what reminds me of Wagner.

Hardy doesn't look 6-4. 6-2 maybe 6-3. Strong muscular build though. Won't get bullied much.

Perhaps you may want to consider some memory-improvement exercises?

Dallas and OKC have good SL teams.

Dallas = J Hardy, OM Prosper, D Lively
OKC = C Holmgren, C Wallace, Jaylin Williams, Ousmane Dieng, Tre Mann, Keyonte Johnson.

Chet with another strong game. 16pts 10reb 3ast 2blk 1stl. Cason Wallace 20pts with six 3s in his debut.

He can pass adequately. I watched the first quarter and he had a few solid passes that led to free throw attempts or just missed shots.

The hype for Cade Cunningham was pretty absurd as well. Many were comparing him to Lebron and Luka. A transcendent player…  ::)

LeBron and Wemby were hyped on a level of their own. Between their two drafts, I would rank Zion as being the clear third most-hyped draftee, or at least tied with Oden/Durant. Durant would have been more hyped but he was in the same year as Oden. Oden was supposed to be the next great big man. Before he got injured, I would say Joel Embiid also had that level of hype. After that tier I would say the next group is guys like Ben Simmons, Andrew Wiggins, and Blake Griffin. Once you get down to this level, though, there isn't a lot of separation between levels of hype, unless you're talking about the clear bottom of the barrel 1st overall picks like Bargnani and Bennett.

I remembered Wiggins/Parker was hyped as the next LeBron. And then there was the Markelle fultz hype train. And then the Zion hype. And then we got Chet Holmgren and now Wemby haha.

I'll wait to see them play their first official NBA game and as the season progresses. Summer League don't count so far.

Jarrace Walker only 3-13 FGA but he filled up the stat sheet with 13reb 5ast 3stl 3blk.

Mathurin (27pts) and A Nembhard played for Indy as well. Those two guys are wasting their time in SL. Too good. Indy played Isaiah Jackson as well. Also have rookie Ben Sheppard. That is a loaded SL team.

Coulibaly 4-13 FG 9pts 0ast 4reb. 33 min. 2 turnovers.

Simmons, Wiggins and Fultz I would say as well.  People were talking about Fultz as if he had all time great potential, and that him being drafted at #1 was an absolute foregone concluson.  Same with Wiggins - Simmons not as much, because I do recall Simmons having his share of critics.  All three of those guys were hyped at pretty crazy levels.

I still remember the shock when Boston traded the #1 pick to Philly and took Tatum.  People were in absolute disbelief.
