Brogdan will be an important player for this team.

How do we keep Brogdon when he knows you wanted to trade him first before Smart ???

I'd ask Brogdon to count the number of guys 7'3 or taller that scored 23ppg last year. Then I'd ask him to count the number of guys 6'4 or taller that scored 15ppg.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

I'd rather keep Brogdan now and get him healthy.

He's a good scoring guard when healthy.

Now after he's healthy we can think about exploring options.  But only if he's not performing once he's returned to playing for us.

Stevens has not made a single trade yet where we didn't get the best player in the trade back. Horford, White, Brogdon, and now Zinger.

The Zinger one is debatable, especially because we got firsts back in the deal.

Still, Stevens MO has not been to break more value down for multiple lesser pieces.

He's big-game hunting. Every move has been to accumulate more assets, better players, and bigger salaries.

The question would be if we could get someone that's better than Brogdon, but still able to defer to Brown/Tatum.

This is such a silly statement. By this logic, Jaylen should have wanted out like five times with all of the times his name was mentioned in trade rumors. Heck, you then could also say that Tatum should have wanted out back during the summer of 2018 when his name was mentioned in Kawhi rumors.

Tons of players are involved in trade talks which ultimately fall apart and they remain on their teams and are still just as productive as they were before. The NBA is a business and all of these guys understand that.

Not to mention the fact that Brogdon is a role player. I'm sure he knows that Kristaps Porzingis has considerably more value than him. I highly doubt he is going to sulk because he was almost traded for a superior talent.
