Lillard is unhappy with Portland not trading the pick for a star player. What competition will there be for Lillard if the Celtics make an offer for him?

Brooklyn? Miami?

Jaylen for Lillard is still tempting

C - Porzingis, Rob Williams
F - Horford, G Williams
F - Tatum, Hauser, J Walsh
G - D White,
G - Lillard, Brogdon

That backcourt is super smooth. I still love the fit of Tatum & Lillard on offense and now with Porzingis to play off of their perimeter games. D White and Horford as glue guys. The Williams Bros and Brogdon as main bench pieces.

Just imagine trying to defend Lillard with two skilled bigs like Porzingis and Horford on the floor next to him. Tatum on the weak side if the defense tries to overload on him. D White as the extra ball-handler, ball mover and shooter. Nightmare to play against.

Doubt Boston will.

Yeah, the only path to that seems to be Brogdon + White + several 1sts (2024 BOS, 2024 GSW, 2026 BOS, 2028 BOS, swap rights in '25, '27, '29)

That would leave us with:

Timelord / Kornet
Porzingis / Horford / Grant
Tatum / Hauser / Walsh
Brown
Lillard / Pritchard / Davidson

Screw it, I'm all in.  Sign a backup center and somebody who can fill in at SG, and we're rolling.  Weak bench, but the best starters in the league by far.

That line up should win at least two championships to make that deal worthwhile in my opinion.

I thought Lillard said he DID NOT WANT TO PLAY FOR BOSTON. He wants to play for Miami with his dog Bam. Adios Amigo.

He never said that, though.  He was given four teams, and he said Miami was his choice due to Bam.  He never rejected Boston (or New York).

Ok, but I’d hate to give up JB for Lillard.  You only have to give up more than the next best deal. Miami’s not giving Butler or Bam.

Why would we want a 33 year old that doesn't want to be here? WE DON'T WANT LILLARD!!

That team would be the clear favorites to win a title, maybe a couple of titles.

I don’t love the idea of giving Brown nearly $300 million.  I don’t think he’s in that elite class of player and that contract would eventually hurt us.

I’d do this trade.  And I think Lillard would be thrilled to join such a talented, balanced team.

Listen to the interview.  He didn't "essentially confirm" anything.  That's just untrue clickbait nonsense.

And, isn't Chris Haynes the guy who reported that Chris Paul had been waived by Phoenix?

It seems to have gotten JT's attention.

Because JT joked with him after Lillard said Bam and Bridges were his boys?

Read the source material.  Don't fall for the media pushing the "nobody likes Boston" narrative.  Just like in politics, the media thrives on ginning up fake controversy.

Not sure how unless he is willing to take the TPMLE. I don't imagine we are interested in a sign-and-trade.
