If Porzingis opts in, should we make an offer?
I'd be pretty interested. Brogdon + Gallinari + Muscala + picks for Porzingis. Given Porzingis is expiring, we would have to give up more draft capital than Washington got for Beal, but this deal retains their newfound financial flexibility once the '23-'24 season finishes, plus more shots at prospects. I would try to keep both G Will and Pritchard in this instance to help shore up our bench, but if PP is fully out the door I'd offer Damion Lee the MLE.

Smart / White
Brown / Lee
Tatum / Hauser
Horford / G Williams
Porzingis / R Williams

I'd probably put Porzingis at the 4 and start Williams.

Did see some Twitter speculation that Portland could offer #3 for Porzingis, don't know if that's based on anything real. But we'd clearly be outbid if that happens.

That’d be such an overpay. Would have to think there’d be more coming back to them, like the Wiz pick this year. But that almost seems unbalanced the other way.

Definitely options on who we could start. I was more thinking of the passing that we'd need to offset Porzingis' lack thereof, but I guess Rob is also a good passer.

#3 is beyond anything we could offer, unless we offered Brown. I don't think Washington would be very interested in Brown for Porzingis + #8, given their direction seems to be getting worse with financial flexibility. #3 seems like a lot for an expiring Porzingis.

#3 for Porzingis + 8 is a great option for Washington.  It also keeps Lilliard away from Miami.  I want nothing good to happen for that team outside of them losing.

Don’t get the Suns/Beal move. Seems like a really awkward fit, and they’re now even more significantly top heavy than before with a lot of overlapping skill sets. It also adds another injury prone guy to the mix. Thinks this backfires for them.

But, hey, much rather the Suns than Miami. Surprised Miami couldn’t get that done.

Only issue is financially it would have to be Simons + Little (at least) + #3 for Porzingis + #8. Not sure that's fair value, unless a 3rd team enters the mix

Miami seems really stuck on Lillard.

I hope they regret holding out, lol.

Anything to foil the Heat and watch Pat Riley crumble. They've been the monkey on the C's back for way too long

What package could Heat offer that PTB would consider?  Herro plus what?? Caleb Martin and a bundle of unprotected first round picks? They have no meaningful trade assets other than Butler and Bam, and Heat won't include either of them.

i'd be more worried about his lack of drive and effort.

Its a high risk/high reward type of trade. But rarely does a tiger change its stripes. Maybe for a season or two. but never long term.

Actually, it's a low risk/low reward type of trade. There is low risk that Ayton won't be a decent NBA center for the C's, but low reward in that he's not moving the needle closer to a chip. This is the Ayton profile since he was drafted.

I watched a lot of playoff games and Ayton seemed fine to me.  He wasn't putting up a high volume of shots but ALL of his other stats stayed the same as the regular season.  The Suns don't space the floor like the C's do.  KD, Paul, Booker all love the mid range game.  With the C's Ayton would be able to gobble up a ton of Offensive rebounds and would be a great lob threat with how the C's play.  Ayton sometimes gets lost in the shuffle and ignore by those three.  I've seen it happen watching their games.  He could absolutely be more active but I think on the C's he'd be a great pickup if the C's didn't already have Rob.  I'd rather have Rob if he could stay healthy but he's proven he can't.  Ayton can give you 18 and 10 every night.  He rebounds well.  While I don't see a fit on this team I think Ayton is a really good player that would fit very well on a team that would actually utilize him effectively.  I don't feel the Suns actually do.

I don’t anticipate Boston making any moves except PP being moved. Think the Celtics run it back as is

If they "run it back", they need to re-sign GWill and also Davison, plus pick up the option on Musc.  So that's three moves in addition to trading PP.  Personally, I think the guards are in for a summer of change.
