Knight can play some backup center and power forward. 6’10” with 7’2” wingspan, improved 3 point shot, hits boards. He torched us in Dec 2021, actually outplayed Rob and Al that night.

Interesting player. I remember trying to catch a Wolves game to see Naz Reid, and Knight caught my attention.

He's an older guy. Good perimeter skills for a big man. Another stretch big threat. Good roll man who can finish a bit at the rim. Decent ability to read and pass off the short roll.

A little more defense and he needs to be more consistent, but not a bad pickup.

I see two-ways being used one of two ways in the NBA:  either as a flyer on a prospect with upside, or as a borderline NBA player who can suit up for 50 games as emergency depth.

I see Knight in the latter category.  I don't think he has a lot of upside and probably will never be a rotation player, but if guys get hurt he can step in in the regular season and give us some minutes.

This is probably the right way to look at it. I feel confident he can contribute on offense and be a threat the other team has to pay attention to.

Are we suppose to feel sorry for Marcus?  I mean the guy made close to $85M with the Celtics and has another $60M left on his contract.  He was an integral part of the Cs but was a loose cannon too often.  I don't miss him one bit!

While it sounds crappy on the surface to find out via Twitter, as opposed to from the team, in actuality that's probably a result of Brad making sure the deal goes through.

If Brad told Marcus, and then the deal fell apart literally at the last moment, how would Marcus feel.  I think Danny got burned like that a few times.

But the second the deal gets signed, I imagine that other teams in the deal have people who are tied to these "breaking news" guys.  So they might get the word to the Twitterati before Brad can even pick up his phone to call Marcus.

I think Lauren Holiday, Jrue's wife, summed it up pretty well when Holiday was traded here.

On Wednesday, my husband took a nap. He woke up to news that he had been moved. No warning, no heads up, not even a conversation that it could be a possibility. Just, it's done. Now move on because "it's not personal, it's business."

I'm not sharing this to say we are entitled to anything, I'm sharing this to say we are human beings whose kids develop friendships with other kids in our comunity, we are people who value family and friendships and invest in the cities we play in. We don't just take from the city we play in, we give to the city we play in and we give our all.

So, yes, this is more than business. Not because we're offended by it, but because we are people, we're humans, we have relationships, dreams, and a connection to where we play.

I don't like the idea that Smart would find out about the trade from Shams or Woj, but I'd have to know more about the process of making and finalizing a trade before I'd know who, if anybody, to be disappointed with.  Maybe Stevens (and other GMs all across the league; this isn't an issue unique to us) needs to own up and have a tough conversation.  Or maybe scoop artists get their info so quickly that moves are plastered all over ESPN before it's even responsible to notify players.

The story was they had gotten the info to Smart’s agent before the news was scooped, but it hadn’t been passed to Smart yet.  I doubt they had much time to make all the calls needed, with a midnight deadline for Porzingis to exercise his option.
