Based on one preseason game, I think there is some added clarity. They started Porzingis and Horford in the game, which I like, but you can't really expect that Holiday will come off the bench once things settle out. So it probably is not settled whether they will start bigger with Horford or smaller with White and Holiday.
1. Tatum
2. Brown
3. Holiday
4. Porzingis
5. White
6. Horford
7. Brissett
8. Pritchard
9. Hauser
10. Mykhailiuk
11. Kornet
12. Walsh
13. Banton
two-way: Davison, Scrubb, Queta
Camp: Stevens, Wenyen Gabriel (?), Kylor Kelley (?),
Another way to look at the likely roster (my preferred bigger unit):
Holiday Pritchard Banton
Brown White Mykhailiuk
Tatum Hauser Walsh
Porzingis Brissett
Horford Kornet
With the amount of playing time that Stevens received, he is probably going to end up converted from a camp deal to a full roster spot and I would say that there is a good chance that he beats out Hauser for the 3rd wing spot. Brissett looked pretty comfortable to be the 7th or 8th guy and get regular minutes as a Swing/PF, essentially the Grant replacement. Pritchard has been a legit back up Guard since his rookie season. He had a nice game, solidifying his role, but it shouldn't be a surprise.
The one hole or weakness is a replacement for Rob Williams. If the plan or hope is that Kornet can be that, I don't see it and last night's game did not help his cause. There is also some hope that Gabriel might be that but that is far from certain. We can get by with Brissett as the 3rd big (Swing/PF) but the need for a solid bench big is obvious. I am fine with seeing how Gabriel does before rushing to make a move but I feel there will be a need to do something at some point.
