D White 18pts on 5-12 FG. He was also 6-7 FT (so 3 possessions) and had 2 turnovers. So 5 possessions on top of the 12 FGs meaing 17 possessions. 18pts on 17poss.

Only 1 assist for D White.

His assist numbers have been very low since the first round. Only 1-2 assists almost every night. Averaging only 1.5apg for last 14 games (PHI & MIA) after averaging 4apg in the regular season. He has shot the ball in this series but we have missed his playmaking. His secondary ball-handling and playmaking is valuable and it hasn't been on display nearly enough.

The TNT crew calling them out. Saying they rely solely on talent and have no heart or offensive gameplan out of chucking threes.

Fall behind 3-0, play with backs against the wall and win

Make it 3-3, feel momentum and they lose by 20 at home

Same old story every year

This team acts like they’ve won something when they haven’t which is very frustrating. Any sign of prosperity and they wilt

I'd kill for our team to have the Heat's mentality. Who comes back from that Derrick White shot? If it happened to us, we would have gotten destroyed the next game. Look at how we came out after Game 4 against Philly. We were shell-shocked. Amazing that Miami was able to come out and play their game while we looked like chickens with their heads cut off.

yup well said

most teams melt after losing that way and 3 straight

Yeah. They faced adversity and responded by playing their very best ball on our own court. SMH

Can someone give me a summary? I missed the 2nd half because of work but it seems like that’s when we really lost the game. Did the team quit? Was it dumb offense? How was Tatum, JB, Smart? TPs for replies

Tatum could barely move. Miami was targeting him on defense by the end of the game.

JB was a turnover machine with bad decision making on top of it.

I don't remember anything from Marcus, honestly.

Tatum goes from being the best defender to our worst huh? That’s a tough break. I can’t imagine a world where he’s the one being hunted. Heat caught a break… somewhat…

That will be a convenient excuse. But the team did not show up at all. 84 points... 84

Which highlights just how important he is to our offense. When we run play through him, we're just a better team. Doesn't help when your supposed 1B can't dribble the ball to save his life.

When it was close, Tony Brothers called Tatum for traveling when it wasn't...didn't call anything on many fouls by Miami.
Sure we sucked but Brothers made sure we could not gather any momentum.

Lost a series  to a team down 2 key.players.

An 8th seed.

Bucks fired their coach who won a title despite having his best player hurt.

Yet.our moronic ownership will keep this idiot around. I bet.they don't make any sizeable changes to the roster either.

Brad will just say his 2 guys.were hurt and his child Joe deserves another shot.

There was a thread on RealGM forums early in this series asking if "if Boston loses to Miami, is that a bigger choke job than Milwaukee losing to Miami?"

I liked the answer "yes because Giannis was hurt and played only 2 and a half games" so BOS losing to MIA would be a much worse result than MIL losing to MIA.

Still feel that way.

Milwaukee with a healthy Giannis would've taken the Heat out.

The better team usually wins in a 7 game series.  This series was not an exception.

Our game 6 win was a fluke.  Miami was clearly the better team in this series, despite being less talented (on paper at least).  Have to give them props.

We will be back next year, and will be better. This team is still young. They have to go through some major battles and tough losses to get there. We forget because they've done so much in the playoffs since entering the league, but most stars don't get their first ring until they reach 27-29 years old. Tatum is 25, Brown 26. These are the experiences that will get them there.

what makes you think they’ll be better next season? they were materially worse this season with better personnel.

the C’s are a talented team that consistently struggled due to lack of effort and low BBIQ. the weaknesses of the past continue to be the current weaknesses, which means they aren’t improving.

as currently constructed, they’ve peaked and won’t win a title. either brad makes major changes this offseason or C’s fans are going to be disappointed. time to rebuild around tatum with players that compliment his game. other than JT, everyone is expendable.

yup altho i like white and tl  whaveter it takes to upgrade
LET'S GO CELTICS!

I have high hopes for JT. I feel he’ll have another leap next season. Can’t say the same about JB though. Maybe it’s the pressure of playing for the supermax but he was just horrible the whole series. He needs to stop shooting against multiple defenders.
The thing with JB is he doesnt work on any of his weaknesses unlike Tatum who adds to his game every year.

Last year in the finals Tatum got ripped for not being strong enough to finish in the paint through contact, he spent all summer putting on 10-15 lbs of muscle and made that one of his strengths this year.

4 years ago everyone said JB would be a stud if he worked on his handles and his free throw shooting, and here we are game 7 ECF and hes got as many turnovers as fgs
everyone got so sensitive after 9-11... thanks alot bin laden

Team needs toughness desperately

I don’t really question their toughness. They lack bbiq and play with ZERO intensity unless absolutely necessary.

It's bummer because he sprained his ankle going to the rim, so I think he had an aggressive mindset.

Then Joe benched him for a weirdly long time in the 1st so the ankle probably stiffened up.

He's had questionable decision after questionable decision with these rotations. Just no clue as a coach. Literally a 10 point swing in the first after he sat down. Pretty much gave them all the momentum for the rest of the game.
