Can someone give me a summary? I missed the 2nd half because of work but it seems like that’s when we really lost the game. Did the team quit? Was it dumb offense? How was Tatum, JB, Smart? TPs for replies

Tatum could barely move. Miami was targeting him on defense by the end of the game.

JB was a turnover machine with bad decision making on top of it.

I don't remember anything from Marcus, honestly.

Tatum goes from being the best defender to our worst huh? That’s a tough break. I can’t imagine a world where he’s the one being hunted. Heat caught a break… somewhat…

It's bummer because he sprained his ankle going to the rim, so I think he had an aggressive mindset.

Then Joe benched him for a weirdly long time in the 1st so the ankle probably stiffened up.

He was done before sitting. I tip my hat to him for playing through it, because let’s face it nobody else in the team did anything sans White and Timelord, but he was toast after rolling that ankle.

I’ve never seen Tatum grimace and hobble like that. If that happened in January, he’d be out a few weeks.

Well that was a gut punch.  As a consistent big fan of Brown, he really played about as bad as possible when he needed to step up with JT's ankle.  Hopefully our whole team will somehow make this into a learning experience.  Hopefully our FO and Coach will as well.  Our whole offensive scheme is so messed up, no ball movement, not sharing the ball enough.  The offensive plan needs to be scraped.  Jacking up 40-50 threes isnt a recipe for winning.  That is the first thing that needs to go.  Maybe our 1st year coach needs to go as well.

I just really dislike the downright hate filled crap in this game thread.  All of our players want to play well and to achieve.  Not one of them is trying to screw up, yet the personal attacks on our players are so off the charts, it is embarrassing.

Congrats to the Celtics for forcing a game 7.  But this was one of the most disappointing ends to a season since the 2010 loss in the finals to the Lakers.  Gotta be better next year if you want to get back to the finals.  No reason we can't let this burn a fire for us all next season like it did for Miami.

That will be a convenient excuse. But the team did not show up at all. 84 points... 84

Which highlights just how important he is to our offense. When we run play through him, we're just a better team. Doesn't help when your supposed 1B can't dribble the ball to save his life.

Where was Smart tonight? Why is it that nobody on this team moves the ball in high pressure games? Serious question.

Tatum had an awesome series

Jaylen no-showed and was awful though. Horford and Smart were also just way too inconsistent especially early on in the series

Lost a series  to a team down 2 key.players.

An 8th seed.

Bucks fired their coach who won a title despite having his best player hurt.

Yet.our moronic ownership will keep this idiot around. I bet.they don't make any sizeable changes to the roster either.

Brad will just say his 2 guys.were hurt and his child Joe deserves another shot.

There was a thread on RealGM forums early in this series asking if "if Boston loses to Miami, is that a bigger choke job than Milwaukee losing to Miami?"

I liked the answer "yes because Giannis was hurt and played only 2 and a half games" so BOS losing to MIA would be a much worse result than MIL losing to MIA.

Still feel that way.

Milwaukee won a game when Giannis was out and when he came back he was fine and Miami dominated them.

Is our loss worse? Probably. But the Giannis being injured aspect of that series is overrated.

Tatum being useless after his ankle sprain in this game 7 was equal to the Giannis injury.

Lol no it wasn't equal as he played and we were at home with a gm.7 crowd.

Joe lost this series.
We have players who need to go. Can't win with low iq mixed with lazy effort.

Bud proved more than Joe and was still shown the door.

Not saying bud should have kept his job but out of the 2 he had given more reason to keep his.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

Honestly not surprised. This is who they have been all year. I thought they had as good a chance of blowing Miami out and they did getting blown out. Unfortunately, you can’t keep going back to the well with this roster. Changes need and will be made. This team needs a shakeup. It’s the same issues over and over again with this team in the playoffs.

This is who this team has been all season. Tonight was on brand for this team.

Changes in the roster need to be made.

Oh man, it’s rough having to go in to work a midnight shift after this… as proud as I am of this team, it’s still a gut punch.

I’ve been mourning since that bad ankle role Tatum suffered in the first. Sucks.

No I don't agree with you on 2010. Yes it sucked they lost but I was proud of that team and how hard they played in that game. I can take a loss like that. This loss tonight? This was an absolute embarrassment to the Boston Celtics franchise.

He’ll be the highest paid player in the league if that happens. I just can’t imagine that happening specially after this performance.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Caleb Martin should have gotten ECF MVP lol

He didn't? He absolutely deserved it. Not only was he incredibly consistent this series, but he is pretty much the sole reason Miami pulled away and maintained the lead. Popularity awards like this are really annoying.

No Motivation tonight....They just thought Home Court would bring us home.

Fire Joe for BURNING HIS Starters out in the playoffs---they had NOTHING left, especially after JT turned his ankle.
