Just heard a good point that the NBA had confirmed that they would have looked at the 3 point line for Butler’s free throws whether or not Mazz had challenged, but they wouldn’t have added the .9 back on the clock if he hadn’t.  And that saved the game.

Hmm just read a stat that teams were 0-89 prior to last night when one team shoots below 25% from 3 and the other team shoots above 40% (we shot 20% and they shot 47%)

Interesting.  Has anyone here seen this reported officially?  I was under the impression that the refs routinely looked at whether the shooting foul was on a two or three, and also looked at what time the foul occurred to adjust the clock.  I didn't think that the coach's challenge would have any impact on either of those things. 

I figured the coach made the challenge knowing that it was a three-point "shot," and hoping that the refs would find that the foul occurred before the shot, which would have resulted in only two free throws.  If it also was the only way to get more than 2.1 on the clock, that made it an even better decision.

One way for the C's to look at it. They could now have 3 straight games at TD Garden. Game 7 vs. Miami, then the first two games of the Finals if they win Monday night.

Lol. Poor Butler, but what is he supposed to say?  Anything other than that and you appear not up to the task.

It felt like he was trying to convince himself and his team. I don’t think he actually can believe that.

I am 100% sure he believes they will win game 7. Would you want he Celtics going out in a game 7 not believing they were going to win?

Same. We were great defensively last night too, but the 3s weren't falling and that kept MIA in it. If we keep it up defensively and improve the 3 point shooting (better than 7-35), we're golden. My gut feeling is that G-Will redeems himself and has a nice bench contribution tomorrow while knocking down open looks, and so does Horford. Those guys bricked some WIDE OPEN looks which is rare. MIA will try to contain JT, so others need to step up.

A Last Two Minute Report, or “L2M,” is a play-by-play report regarding all calls and material non-calls in the last two minutes of the fourth quarter or the last two minutes of any overtime period (if applicable) for all games (including playoffs) that meet designated criteria.

What is the criteria for a game to have an L2M?

Effective with the 2017-18 season, an L2M will be done for any game in which one team’s lead over the other is three points or fewer at any point during the last two minutes of the fourth quarter or overtime.
