With his pathetic performance in the playoffs, any chance JB settles for something less than the max? Say a 2 year deal?

yeah, no chance. brown’s ego is too big and he’s convinced he’s an elite player. what was his quote? five rings by age 28? lol

I think also in general - not to get too 'current events' in the basketball half of the forum - settling for less for the sake of employers who are going to nickel and dime the rest of the roster at every opportunity? That's a mistake all around.

Given that he's only pooped the bed in the last two games and against Philly he averaged 22ppg on 55% shooting and 43% from 3 and averaged 20ppg on 55% shooting and 51% from 3 against Atlanta (I know those series feel like they were centuries ago) I'm guessing he probably won't settle for that. Even though you're only as good as your last game  :police:

stevens isnt going to make a bad emotional decision based on this series. brown is still an all-nba player who averaged 27points per game this season. it would be a massive mistake to trade him away at 26years old because they underachieved this year

its pretty clear coaching and mazzula is what handicapped this team and needs to go. this team needs an experienced coach

Firing Mazulla IMHO, would not be an emotional decision

if you read my post, its pretty clear that trading/not signing brown would be the emotional decision.

Firing mazzulla is the logical choice. You have a deep and talented roster that went to the finals last year. This year looks disjointed and lost their defense. that is coaching.

not doubling Jimmy, not calling timeouts, having no offensive sets other than shooting 3's, not doubling harden, playing drop coverage....thats all coaching that can easily be fixed.

when you have a team that played defense as they did last season drop off a cliff and the only thing that changed was the coach....its obvious

Kinda true....but it's hard to play Defense, the players loved just shooting 3s all day

thats what the coach wants! every game we lost all Joe said was "we need to shoot more 3's" he never said "we need to buckle down defensively"

Meanwhile, Spo on the other bench was like “remember, all they wanna do is shoot threes”  ;D

I was thinking Smart might end traded after the season. Smart an Gallinari for Anfernee Simons works and gets the Cs a better shooter with OK size but lose some defensive versatility.

Portland has also been rumored to want to trade the #3 pick for win now player(s).
