We won’t get anything of value in return if we trade him now. He’s an unrestricted free agent next year. Either we give him the supermax and keep him for at least a year, or we watch him walk away for nothing. Unless of course JB somehow agrees to a short term non supermax extension.

Eh, it can happen. Stars get traded all the time when having a year left. They just make an agreement beforehand, and it usually works out.

At this point, a JB trade around a Trae package or Lillard package is looking enticing. Obvious risks and weaknesses to both of them, but JB is just simply too limited as a star. And while Tatum is a legitimate 1A type player, he's not (yet at least) a Lebron type that can take even a lackluster second option like JB to a championship.

Yup.  I wondered in another thread if we would be better if we just let our players determine what we do.  It seems like there was lobbying behind the scenes to get timelord back starting and playing bigger minutes.  Maybe our players actually know more than the coach?  Player / coach Al Horford?

At this point i would flip horfords minutes between grant and timelord, he cant make a shot plus his defence is not effective vs bam and jimmy.

So you really meant he was a no-show in the 2 games of the series with Miami?  That is probably a good pivot from what you really meant.  Because trying to say that Brown is a no-show for the playoffs isn't supportable.  I agree Jaylen has his share of dumb mistakes.  But tonight...you got Tatum with 5 turnovers, Smart with 3, and JB with 2.  JB shot poorly for the first time in this playoffs, he was forcing things trying to get himself on track, just like Tatum does when he is struggling. 

If you want say stuff that isn't true, go right ahead, but that isn't going to stop people from correcting you.

The team was +9 on 3PTA, but only +1 on 3PTM. The Heat were +13 on FGA, +5 OREB, +10 REB, and +5 TO. That’s the recipe for winning on the road and has been our main weaknesses throughout the season.

In a coaching mismatch of this proportion, the way to close the gap is to wear the opponent down. That is the silver lining in this series; their reliance on the Butler-Bam lineup can backfire in the course of the aeries. With Jimmy already having 80+ minutes and games every 45 hours, the longer the series goes, the tougher it will be for them to execute as precisely as they have.

To get to the point of wearing the Heat down, we have to rely on the best part about this team: the defense.

Horford did it late in Game 4 against PHI when they went up 5. Game went to OT and they lost.

Horford did it again in Game 1 this series with the "timeout gesture" too when up 62-49, they blew it 2nd half

And tonight, G-Will exchanges words with Butler, and the C's choke late. 20-7 run Miami after that.

I mean I love the emotion and fire, but it certainly looks bad if they can't back it up. Not entirely their faults either, others have needed to step up and they haven't.

I guess he didn't learn from the Donovan Mitchell FT incident.
