The Celtics can only win blowouts, but they lose every close game. Same thing against Atlanta first round and Philly last round too.

When MIA cut the lead to 6 with 4 minutes to go, they had the advantage.

This team becomes a PUDDLE when it's close late. They don't know how to function. And the coaching is also abysmal + there's inconsistencies all around (like why is Tatum taking only 2-3 shots in the 4th??)
Did win game 6 against the Sixers but that was probably more the Sixers blowing it.

Do they have the talent to win the next 4 games? Absolutely. They don't have the bball IQ or coaching to do it though and we all know it.

Had a pretty overwhelming gut feeling they would lose this game, bums. Still should win this series

Similar for me. Not an overwhelming feeling but a feeling it would happen. Why I started the day thinking about how bad it would be to be down 0-2 instead of expecting a response and tying the series 1-1.

Celtics Margin of Victory in Playoff Wins: 13, 13, 8, 8, 34, 12, 9, 24

Celtics Margin of Loss in Playoff Losses: 8, 2, 4, 1, 12, 7, 6

Notice a pattern?

Now you can argue some of these are a bit deceiving due to garbage time points in certain games, but I don't consider 15 games a "small sample size". This team is 0-4 in games decided by LESS than 8 points. They haven't had a blowout loss, but mostly close losses. But they all count the same...

All that prepping they did, going thru runs with no timeout to prepare for the stress ans pressure of the moment, and they haven’t learned how to win close games

I can't even be mad at Miami. I wish we were like them. Lot of respect for what they are doing

Yeah. Same here.

Yeah, but even that one they got to a 11-point lead with just 2 minutes left. It wasn't like they were up only 1-2 points in the final minute and facing immense pressure then

To be fair does anyone think we would beat Denver? This team has too many mental lapses.

If we can't beat Miami we not gonna beat the nuggets who are a much better team.

Yup

This.

And they’re getting it done with undrafted guys with chips on their shoulder who understand their roles and who know that their time in the league is not guaranteed and is totally up to their performance

Before Game 1, Barkley went on and on about all the advantages the Celtics had over Miami, how the Heat would not be able to stay with Boston's "firepower." This is so bad. Weak and Weaker.

I saw a thread on RealGM asking "Would Boston losing to Miami in the ECF be a greater choke-job than Milwaukee losing to Miami in the 1st round?"

The reply that caught my eye was one commentator (more than one) mentioning that at least Milwaukee only had their star player (Giannis) for 2 and a half games. Boston losing while being healthy would be far worse than Milwaukee losing given that.

I agree with that -- This, losing to MIA in the EC, would be a worse choke-job than Milwaukee losing in the 1st round to this Miami run.

Give up 36 points in the fourth quarter. Just unbelievable.

The coaching staff needs to all be let go.

They have to be fired. It would be ridiculous to bring them back after how badly the team has played in the postseason.

Trash talking is not working for this team.

Horford did it late in Game 4 against PHI. Game went to OT and they lost.

Horford did it again in Game 1 this series with the "timeout gesture" too, they blew it 2nd half

And tonight, G-Will exchanges words with Butler, and the C's choke late.

I mean I love the emotion and fire, but it certainly looks bad if they can't back it up. Not entirely their faults either, others have needed to step up and they haven't.
