Yeah, this is the guy I’ve been looking at as well with that east second round pick.
The two most important things this team needs to do to ensure a long competitive run are:
1. Get a legitimate young center behind Time Lord who can start 20 games or more a year. We can’t be in a position where if Time Lord goes down we’re screwed for the playoffs every year. We have to have a legitimate back up. That back up won’t be as good as Time Lord when healthy, but he has to be good enough that we can win.
I’d like Poertl but that will be tough to get done. I was really hoping we traded for him.
2. Find Al’s long term back up. It’s not Grant Williams and while Tatum is good at PF I think we’ve proven that our best lineup is with Smart, Brown and Tatum and the 1, 2 and 3 spots with legit size at the 4 and 5.
Small ball (with Tatum at the four is really cute, but it doesn’t cut it come the playoffs because it gets too physical. We are huge, and dominant with Time Lord and Horford in there with Tatum, Brown and Smart.
Trayce Kackson Davis would be a a reasonable choice in the wary second - Inlike him.
