The Markelle Fultz’s curse. Now Tatum forgets how to shoot.

15 points from Tatum would go a long way this half

What has happened to Tatum?  I've never seen something like this out of a star player.

It's almost as if he has checked out on offense or pressing too hard

Is he hiding an injury? Like last year?

Quote
Tatum needs to man up, and simply overpower his guy. He's constantly losing the ball and falling. Is he trying to get a call by falling?

He has always played too much for a foul in my opinion instead of manning up and trying to score.

Quote
In Tatum's defense, he's played good defense on the whole, and he's contributing with boards (7) and assists (6). But he simply has to score and shoot better, too.

Yes, he is rooting for team mates too.    Just let the game come to you Jayson quit forcing the offense.

1 TO, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in a half is not an indication of someone that "checked out". I think it's more indicative of someone that hasn't been shooting the 3s well all series (except game 1) and Embiid in his head when he goes inside. But he's missed some bunnies as well... so I think there's something to the "pressing too hard" aspect of it.

9 turnovers.

Tatum 0-for-10.

And yet, we're leading.  Because our idiot coach remembered we can play two bigs.

Hope it’s not too late, but quite a difference.

for a number of possessions in the first half on def we almost looked like last years team.  and it was so sweet.
keep doing what is working Joe, please don't screw this up.

Iso Tatum is not working, if he’s going to get some offense going, it needs to be in the flow of the offense, you cannot force it right now

What has happened to Tatum?  I've never seen something like this out of a star player.

he’s not just missing shots, he’s got zero touch on his jumper and is missing badly. these aren’t in & out close misses, or there’s a lid on the basket type misses, he’s clanking it badly, even on layups. never seen something like this, either.

Hate to admit it Mahk but his confidence looks shot. Hopefully the total opposite happens in the second half.

He's had pretty good second halves lately.

We honestly need him to get hot at some point because as good as brogdon and white are they are roleplayers. They can't carry the team.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
If Tatum has to play like prime Ben Simmons, then fine. There is enough talent on this team and they should be able to hit shots. But iso-ing and missing badly is not prime Ben Simmons.

If he is going to score, it has to come within the flow of the offense. Those last few minutes were truly embarrassing. And so were all those missed lay-ups.

Stop already. Tatum hasn’t checked out, he’s shot terribly. I don’t see people saying Horford has checked out and he hasn’t hit a shot.

i still think a few minutes of PP maniacally pushing the pace could get the sixers on their heels, tire them out for the 4Q, and net the C’s (and possibly JT) some easy buckets.

it makes too much sense, so joe won’t do it.

The defense is excellent; a flashback to last season.

Tatum had such a bad scoring first half that we need a great second half to withstand a Sixers run.

So, a lineup change in a game 6 is a sign of a panicked coach, no?
No. I think it's proactive and a sign of courage. A willingness to take a risk to try and change things for the better for your team. I liked the move.

Things weren't going well. A change was good.

Got to come out strong. Love that JB take right at Embiid.

Inexcusable transition D.

What are you shooting contested threes for, Tatum?! Joe can you really not control your dang players?!
