Shot clock violation:

Watch maxey. He travels then scores. Took like 4 steps. Basket should not have counted.

Boston still can’t guard quick guards off the dribble
Why are you complaining about something that happens a lot and is never called?  It was wide open layup whether or not Maxey traveled.  The travels that should be called are when they give the offensive player an advantage.

Joe is going to have to actually do something as coach and make a personnel change. In particular, you're just going to have to play Timelord more and less of Al, particularly while Embiid is out. Al is simply not getting it done on eeither side of the ball. Not sure if his age is catching up to him or what, but he's been downright atrocious most of the playoffs thus far. Mazzulla's continued refusal to play him less and Timelord more has just hemorrhaged our defense, along with his other ridiculous decisions.

I think that's the major reason why our defense is not good. In the Hawks series, it was  the Hawks forcing the switches to get Al on Trey and Al couldn't stop him. Same thing here with Harden. Al has lost a couple of steps. It happens. At his age he should be coming off the bench instead of anchoring the defense for a team with championship hopes. Rob should be the guy, but Joe doesn't seem to want to play anyone late who can't stretch the floor. Rob and Grant should be getting a lot more run and leading the charge on defense.

And that's the thing - Al has been awful shooting from three in the playoffs thus far shooting something like a little over 33%.

It's inexcusable. Our offense was just fine tonight minus some boneheaded turnovers, but we just couldn't stop them for anything. And much of that was on Al.

Joe's a player's coach, but he's got to put his big boy pants on and make the hard decision, especially with no Embiid out there.

Rob honestly should have demanded to go in.

joe is begging for a mutiny at this stage. despicable bum

He can walk that plank all the way to the unemployment line

A coach can only take you so far. Unless this core wakes the hell up and starts actually respecting teams instead of expecting their talent to always win out it will never change. I do not know how that happens though when I do not know who the leader is on this team.

They play the defensive scheme the coach calls.
Milking at the end is correctable yet Joe let's them do it.

This poor defense didn't happen last year......what changed....

No last year they turned the ball over all the time and played stupid on offense. People can keep blaming the coach for all the problems if they want. These guys have played enough games together to know better. It's something different every season but the cast is still the same.

Celtics lost to GSW 4-2 - the last 3 games convincingly. Celts squeezed by the Bucks with no Middleton. And Cs were a missed Butler 3 from blowing the Heat series.  They had their issues last year blowing leads. They had a dominant stretch mid-year but ended winning 6 fewer regular season games than this year.  This team feels like they’re underperforming but this series has only just started.  Harden predictably was going to go off.

Not loving this by any means but not giving up yet.

Like, I've got to be in the Twilight zone. After what we just witnessed with us having our way offensively and shooting nearly 60% from the floor in a playoff game, your main takeaways are focused on the offense and us shooting more threes, and not on the atrocious defensive game plan that let them score at will? Joe does realize that 60% shooting with most shots at the rim is good, right? And that you can win such a game without jacking 40+ threes when you just adjust your non-sensical, porous defensive scheme, right?

I'm sorry, but this guy is an absolute joke. No objective observer can really argue that at this point. Look at the evidence. What rational person comes away thinking this after that game?

16 to's tonight.

I agree they had their flaws last year, but the defense could.help make up for the weaknesses.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

Completely idiotic.  The Celts shot 69% on 2-point shots and I assume that most if not all of the free throws came off of 2-point shots.  So the success rate on 2-point shots must have been around 75% which trumps shooting 38% from 3.

Hard to watch at the end. But, I have to give it to Harden! He lit it up! Not really sure what it means for the series honestly, this team always seems to play better from behind. We will see, but, that was a great game!
I understand everyone is frustrated, but we played well, Tatum and Brown started forcing things at the end of the game, but for the most part they passed the ball much better tonight!
Hand it to Harden and the Sixers for playing a hell of a game. On to game 2!
Right, and most of Harden's work was just good basketball. Only a small portion was his disgusting foul baiting tricks. Normally I can't stand watching the guy, but I have to give him credit. He just flat out beat us balling.

Not winning anything with this defense and soft mentality
