Game ball to JB.  He hit so many huge 3 pointers and came up with that massive block on Murray down the stretch.  We would have been dead in the water without his timely contributions.

Tough game for White...can't be perfect all the time.

I remember when Vinnie Johnson left the Pistons in 1992, Chuck Daly said it put so much more pressure on Joe D and Isiah because before they only needed 2 out of 3 of their guards to play well to have a chance to win each night whereas now Joe D and Zeke had to play well every night for DET to have a shot at a W.

It doesn't matter so much that D White has a bad game. He has Brogdon and Smart there to pickup the slack. And vice versa for those other guys. If Smart plays badly, White and Brogdon pickup the slack. If Brogdon plays badly, Smart and White pickup the slack.

We get 2 out of 3 playing well and we're in business.

2 out of 3 ain't bad.

Man, hell of a Tatum game:

30 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 stl, 2 blocks with 0 TOs and 11-20 shooting and big shots down the stretch.

And great defensive effort that won't show up in the box score. Picked up full court a lot and Trae and Dejounte couldn't get clean looks on him when he got switched in the P&R.

Tatum's defense is something special. So difficult for guys to exploit him. Little bigs, big guys, guys his own size. Tatum stands up to the test against all of them.

Massive credit and respect to Young and the Hawks though. They played us hard and made it very tough.

If the Hawks can find a way to improve a bit on defense (like with a Smart or Beverley kind of player or two), as well as a full offseason with Snyder implementing a scheme/system they could be a lot better next season

At least Mazzulla tried stuff tonight and got some things to work. Grant Williams helped and the Grant-Horford lineup worked really well. Pulling Smart in the 4th and going with Brogdon down the stretch helped too.

Yes, definitely. Some people still underestimating the Hawks from the expectations we have on the Celtics, but the Hawks played well and played hard every game.

I prefer they play D the whole 48 minutes rather than the last 6 minutes of the 4th quarter. But yes, play O like that the rest of the way...minus the insane 3's.
