For a team full of great defenders they play some of the laziest sloppy defense i have seen. The effort, the gameplan, everything about it disgusts me. Why are you backing up off of Young giving him a wide open shot. Those are shots Young, Curry, Lillard hit on the reg. And that offense in the 4th quarter was embarrassing. I dont get our coach sometimes, just mind boggling
I think it's the gameplan. Trae Young has felt no pressure all series. The Celtics need to stop playing him the same way because it's obviously not working.

  • Let's Go Celtics!
Lose by 2 with JB missing at least two free throws in the fourth and JT getting a late stupid T.

And don't get me started on incompetent Joe. He sat there and watched us give up the entire lead making no adjustments or calling any timeouts until 9 seconds left in the freaking game. How people seriously think he can lead us to a championship is beyond me. He needs to go back to D3 coaching. What a joke.

This loss wasn't on JB.  He gave us 35 7 and 5.  NO way it is on JB.

Smart completely cratered the team when he came back in.  I have never seen anything like it.

1-5 from the free throw line. Gotta get those freebies. It wasn't just him though, we shot 54% from the line overall.

ATL ended the game on a 30-15 run in just the final 6 minutes

We gave up 30 points in the last 6. Insane.

That is ugly.

I said it before, Joe just can't stand up to Tatum. Can't discipline him. He got the tenure because of Tatum's endorsement, and he feels indebted.

the game COMPLETELY changed when Tatum and Smart came back in that last time.
Those two weren't really ready to play and had two horrible TO's right when they came back in.
Then Smart got the T and the snowball was getting huge and heading right for us at that point.
Smart blew this game 100%.  Those two turnovers, the Tech, the bad foul that gave TY the two fts.
Man what a fiasco.  Gonna be some yelling in that locker room.

Those turnovers killed us, along with Smartacus foul with 20 to go. I hope there’s yelling they need to be fired up for Thursday.

Why not play Trae tighter? He basically just walked into an open three.

Trae is so fast and there is so much open room behind the defender. That is a tough situation.

Even tougher for a wing player like Jaylen who is slower and not able to pressure the ball on a speedy PG like Trae Young in today's environment where any slight contact is a foul.

throw a trap at him as he crosses half-court. DO SOMETHING !!!!!!
Bingo - get the ball out of his hands and let someone else beat you.
exactly -- everyone knew it was going to Trae - get it out of his hands.  no one else is going to make something from that far out

Going to get their teeth kicked in game 6. Celtics just made this a lot more difficult with lazy play

Down the stretch I’m wondering how many trips the Hawks went without 2 or 3.

Been waiting to see if this team has ‘wake up call’ in their vocabulary. If this isn’t the time, don’t know when.
I have to say, up 12 or whatever with 5 minutes left, I didn’t feel good. I wouldn’t have bet they’d lose but I wasn’t confident at all. So disappointed in this finish.

I'll give ATL credit. They have been fighting every game and even today with Murray, they showed up and didn't quit. Wish the C's had this same heart and killer instinct to go along with the talent

every player had a hand in this loss.  Joe bears a lot of responsibility as well.

there will be no yelling in the locker room because that would require heart and fight and this team doesn't have any

Normally I would agree.  In a normal game where a team just loses, yeah the whole team was to blame.  But there were 4 huge screwups that just opened the door for this to happen.  And it wasn't DWhite, Timelord, JB that had anything to do with that.

I’m sure they switched off with Murray’s suspension and then tried to kill the game with 6 to go instead of continuing to play
They love trying to kill the game well before they ought to. There’ll be half a quarter left and we’re trying to not lose rather than win.

Pathetic, really. Think Joe is overwhelmed

This always happens and I think Tatum is one of the worst proponents of it, trying to manage the game instead of play the game

agreed. love JB and his offense kept us in the lead but he's got to take the hit for 1-5 from FT and those 4 TOs.  no one gets a pass after losing tonight

They got beat because the Hawks played harder than they did defensively and Young had a big game. Joe might want to reconsider how he defends Young though. Plan A isn't working.

Where was Malcom in the 4th?? We had 2 put Smart back in? Promptly turns it over twice and make an absolutely stupid foul — you don’t even put yourself in that position. Malcom wouldn’t have done that
