Congrats Brogdon, well-deserved.  Having him come off the bench is an incredible luxury.

I do wonder, however, about his personal thoughts about this award.  I'm almost certain he'd rather be starting.  If he doesn't stay with the C's in the future, do other teams start looking at him as primarily a 6th man rather than a starter, since they know he thrives in this role?  Would he be content with this role for the rest of his career?  Just some random thoughts.

He can be our starting guard. Move Smart to the bench or trade him

Doesn’t really matter who starts the game. It does matter who finishes it, though. Also, coming off the bench allows Brogdon to get more shots up. I’d rather have Smart starting and facilitating for JT and JB. Malcom doesn’t seem to have a problem coming off the bench either.

"I think [I've been] a steady presence and spark off the bench," Brogdon said. "I think that's what this team was in need of last year was more depth, and I think I've brought that."

“I want to be a good teammate," Brogdon said. "I'm a guy that's willing to sacrifice for the greater good of the team, so I always want that to be what I'm known for."

I like players like him. Team-first guy. Nice attitude and character. Not the all about me typa guy.

Well-deserved. Plus, I don't think anyone could hope for a better teammate and team-first guy.

Congrats Malcolm.
I do hope that he will be a Celtics for a long time. His ability to drive at will and 3pt accuracy is what the Celtics need, without the diva mentality.

"This is such an honor. It's definitely been a transition for me, coming from Indiana to Boston," Brogdon said in an interview on TNT's "Inside The NBA" as part of the award announcement. "But I'm with a great organization, I have great teammates, a great coaching staff. Joe [Mazzulla] has taken over and done a great job, so I want to thank those guys."

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

The Celtics carved out the perfect role for him and he embraced it.  He played in 67 games, the most of his career since his rookie season.  Average of 26.0 min per game, the least of his career including his rookie season.  Most of his career, he has been in the range of 30-35 min.  He has been just what the Doctor ordered for us through the season and the non-starting role, reduced minutes, seems to have been good for his durability issues.

He is having a weird playoff so far though.  He is shooting 29% overall and 1-7 from 3 in two games (I think the one 3 he made as at the end of a quarter from half court).  But in spite of that horrible shooting, he is +25 with a +21.7 net rating.  Hopefully he finds his stroke.

I must admit that Portis's numbers were better than I thought.

I don't think this comment was necessary.

He's not wrong though.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

I didn't say he was wrong.  But he should know better.  This is not the time or place to say this out loud.  Probably does not end up making any difference.  Atlanta fans may not even notice.  But he still didn't need to say it.

Welp, confirmed D. Murray will be 2012 Game 6 LeBron tonight and put on a clinic with us after that comment by Brogdon  :-X

It really was not a contest in my view. Quickley's stats are boosted by 2.6ppg, 0.5rpg and 0.5apg due to his 21 games started.
