Well-deserved.

Quote
Brogdon edged out New York Knicks guard Immanuel Quickley for the award, garnering 60 out of 100 first-place votes and compiling 408 total points, ahead of Quickley's 34 first-place votes and 326 total points in what is likely to be one of the closer races in this year's slate of awards.

Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis (six first-place votes, 97 total points) was the third finalist for the honor, while another seven players received at least one vote.

Excellent news! Clear choice and well-deserved.

Side note - Malcolm Brogdon at +275 was too good to pass up, so I’m now $250 richer given this achievement 😂 Now we just need the C’s to win the title and that’ll bank me another $750 at +320 a week or so ago!

So happy for him - he fit in from day 1. You could make a great team from Celtics 6th men

McHale
Havlicek

Very few players in NBA history at McHale level!

Congrats Brogdon, well-deserved.  Having him come off the bench is an incredible luxury.

I do wonder, however, about his personal thoughts about this award.  I'm almost certain he'd rather be starting.  If he doesn't stay with the C's in the future, do other teams start looking at him as primarily a 6th man rather than a starter, since they know he thrives in this role?  Would he be content with this role for the rest of his career?  Just some random thoughts.

He can be our starting guard. Move Smart to the bench or trade him

Doesn’t really matter who starts the game. It does matter who finishes it, though. Also, coming off the bench allows Brogdon to get more shots up and it’s less wear/tear on his body. I’d rather have Smart starting and facilitating for JT and JB. Malcom doesn’t seem to have a problem coming off the bench either.

"I think [I've been] a steady presence and spark off the bench," Brogdon said. "I think that's what this team was in need of last year was more depth, and I think I've brought that."

“I want to be a good teammate," Brogdon said. "I'm a guy that's willing to sacrifice for the greater good of the team, so I always want that to be what I'm known for."
