The Heat actually have a killer instinct that I wish we did…
Look at their coach vs ours
Remember when their coach was a young head coach in his 30s with prime LeBron, Wade, and Bosh and everyone thought he should have been fired that first year, and then again even in the second year as the Heat went down 3-2 heading back to Boston in the conference finals?
I don't think Spoelstra was ever a below-average coach, and it was certainly never questionable whether he belonged in the league.
The only real criticism of Spoelstra was that he wasn't Riley. Riley had five rings as a coach. Of course people expected he'd take over to coach Lebron and Bosh.
A lot of folks regarded Spoelstra as a top 10 coach in the NBA prior to LeBron joining them after Spoelstra led Miami to two playoff berths in 2009 and 2010 after that disasterous 2008 season that saw them win only 15 games vs 67 losses.
That didn't stop concerns about Spoelstra's readiness to run a title contender after LeBron and Bosh joined. Spoelstra was considered more a bright coaching prospect rather than established master. Those concerns only got louded after the team's slow start in 2011 and louder again after losing to Dallas in the Finals.
I was thinking this, but didn’t have the certainty of my memory. I do recall Spoelstra being thought too young and not ready.
Spoelstra was once a video guy I believe. But he's turned his career around. Won two with the LeBron superteam. And ofc, post-LeBron he was still able to get the Heat in the playoffs or deep in the postseason.
And look what we have as our head coach. A garbage scrub who don't know what he's doing, and is trying to be a Belichick. Get that cockiness outta here!
