Back to basketball, what are the predictions for the NYK - MIA series?  538 (Nate Silver) has both having more or less the same odds to advance to the ECF, really a 50-50 proposition.  I don't know.  Sure, MIA played inspired basketball against MIL but NYK looked really good against CLE and has looked good for the last few months of the regular season.  NYK looks like the better team to me.

I think the Bucks season was a failure.  People can work hard, be focused, be professional, and still fail.  I agree with Cuban that reporters are just fishing for sound bites and headlines, but the Bucks fell well short of their goal.  They didn't succeed.  They failed.

I think HCA could be a factor this series, particularly later in the series.

If I had to predict, I'd probably lean Knicks in 7. But yeah, it's close. The Heat have the overall best player (Butler), but the Knicks have a handful of great players including Brunson who has been an all-star caliber player. I do think the Knicks defense looked awesome in the Cavs series and they are probably better than Milwaukee's. The Heat will miss Herro in this series big time.

I think it will be NYK, as well.  The Heat are an 8th seed with a poor offense that are now playing without two rotation players.  The Knicks have been hot for awhile.

Just checking the two games tonight.  The game @GSW is a 8:00p EST start, meaning 5:00p start in CA.  That is unusual.  I wonder if that will have any impact.  GSW have looked like the better team so likely that close this out at home in spite of the weird start time.

And LAL and MEM, who knows.  It is in LA so I guess that gives them an edge.

In a 50-50 prop, give me the team with the superior HC: Miami.

It will be a rock fight, a grueling series for both teams as they will often play against each others half court defense.

The games the Knicks win, they will dominate the hustle department (transition points and rebounding). In the rest of the games, I’m sure that Spoelstra will make one or several of the Knicks key players unplayable and win the fourth quarter.

I understand the motivation, of course, but why the GSW game and not the LAL game?  MEM fans are in the central time zone.  A 7:00p local time start would actually be better for them than a 9:30p start.  There is no perfect solution, one of the games had to start early, I get that.

It is just hard for players, fans, stadium workers, everybody to have a game in San Francisco start at 5:00p on a Friday.  It would be the same if the game was in LA

It's tough, but I'm also going Denver in 6. If Murray can keep playing like that, Denver will be tough to beat. I know the Suns now have Durant, but they didn't look that convincing against a Clippers team missing George, and also missing Kawhi the final 3 games of that series.

They won them, but it was close and they nearly lost a few of them. And the Suns bench is putrid. They are relying A TON on Booker and KD, and it's not a guarantee Ayton consistently shows up.

I like Denver.  Don't see how the PHX starters can keep playing 45 min/gm, especially at elevation in Denver.  Intriguing series though.
