Maybe someone could give a better scouting report, but for me, I just don't see what the Hawks can do to neutralize Tatum AND Brown. Do they have the players to even do that? That's the huge advantage we have. The Hawks defense is also bad so teams can put up points on them. The C's have as well in the recent past. There'll be stretches where Young and the Hawks score a bunch, but opponents typically are also able to score against them. Young is an awful defender.

If you like advanced stats, the Hawks DRTG this season was 115.4.  The only playoff team that was worse was SAC (116.0).  The last time ATL was good was in 2020-21.  That season they lost to MIL in the ECF.  The team really isn't so different.  Gallinari and Huerter gone.  Murray has been added.  Trae Young is still Trae Young.  Clint Capela is pretty much the same player.  Saddiq Bey was a nice pick up.  But the main difference is that Collins was a 17.6/7.5/40% from 3 emerging star player, with a decent DRTG.  Now he is a shell of that.

Agree 100%.  If they mess around and have to play and extra game or 2 in this round, that is that much less rest for the next round, and then you are that much less rested for the finals.  I hope they learned that from last season.  It is a long haul.  You can't waste anything along the way.

Yeah, for all the nostalgia of last years playoffs and Udoka. they basically screwed around the whole playoffs except for the nets series.

I mean they would win one game big, lose one game big, win one game big! lose one game big. it was so frustrating to watch. I hope thats something they have learned. the miami series never shouldve gone 7.

Although they did coast against bad teams again this year. But then turned it on against good teams. so idk. my hope is they just got bored at the end of the season. because you saw they would lose to washington and the go and blow out milwaukee. and the effort was 100% different in those games.

Atlanta has a lot of wings that theoretically could defend Tatum and Brown. They also have bigs that can defend the rim. In theory, they are a tough matchup.

But the cohesion of their defense has been largely lacking, especially when you get them rotating and switching. The Cs are also adept at getting the matchups they want, which means they will be hunting Young and Bogdon all game.

If you don't respect a team, they will beat you. Snyder is a great coach and has demonstrated the ability to make adjustments with flawed rosters. Their offensive flow has been looking better. They have two very good big defenders/rebounders, and a bunch of switchy wings/guards that can attack.

They are the kind of team you look at and wonder, "why aren't they much better". They did add Snyder as HC and I think that's done some wonders for them lately. He's an excellent coach.

I don’t think they took their foot off the gas. Atlanta just hit shots. The Celtics can play better some, and I think they will in Game 4.

Now that I think back, maybe better Hawks player is not suspended .  Celtics thought they had game 5 wrapped at home with Hawks down a man and played down with them .

Their defense the last 4 games was minimal. At least everyone stayed healthy.
