Only good thing about finishing third will be playing the 6 seeded nets and not the 7 seeded Heat.

honestly, it’s not about who we play in the playoffs; it’s all about how we play. if we play like we did in the 1H of the season, i’d pick the c’s over anyone in the nba. play like we have in the 2H, and it won’t matter who we play, it will be a first round exit.
.

Oh I think the Celtics lose in round two no matter what. They just don’t have it this year. Not tough. Not smart. Just average

Would have been such an awesome statement win. Instead more of the same. Choking down the stretch, making dumb decisions and plays late. Not sure why guys like GWill, Kornet and Smart get so much playing time in these moments compared to some of the other options too.

Kornet was huge tonight, and I don't think he played in the last few minutes or OT save for rebound situations. I think you're mixing him up with Muscala.

He got quite a few offensive boards, but he gave up a ton of defensive boards on the other end, several that led to second chance points.

He also hemorrhages points with his amoeba like mobility and blew several bunnies at the rim despite being 7' 2".
he plays a lot smaller than his height around the rim on offense
Kornet is trash. He had a wide open dunk and refused to put the ball up because he was scared to go up against 6ft6 Levert LOL. Constantly gets bodied by guards around the rim
everyone got so sensitive after 9-11... thanks alot bin laden

thing is, one FT by Grant and we end the night on a high note, thrilled with a win with a depleted roster tonight against the #4 team at full strength on the road.  however, Grant choked that away.

Amazing what one made/missed shot can make to your game experience  :laugh:

GWILL THIS IS YOUR FAULT

Nope. It’s all Joes fault. He should have told Grant to concentrate before he went to the line. If he only did that the C’s would have won.

It's hilarious that you continue in your Joe apologism, even after he continues to admit mistakes down the stretches of losses and even after a game tonight where he actually did good with his timeouts and it greatly impacted the game. Insane.

Do you seriously not see the problem with Joe being invisible in OT tonight? Did you see any discernible plays or sets out there to get good looks, or did you just see JB iso'ing each time down the floor trying to make homerun plays?

Read my signature. Just once. At least try.

Nice deflection.

Now answer the question. Are you comfortable with Joe essentially sitting on his hands all OT and letting JB and Smart ad lib, iso, and shoot us out of the game with bad shots?

It's one thing if they get a set up a good play and miss the shot. That happens. But they were just forcing bad shot up after bad shot, trying to make the homerun play. That's when the coach has to step in and make things easier for them with set plays and actions - let alone on a SEGABABA with a double OT loss last night.

Gotta give Grant credit. That was an epic choke.

All this before a long road trip Vs several bad teams they will play down to.

Celtics defense is painfully lacking. They cannot guard quick guards at all

Should have traded grant at the deadline. Guy is just an albatross. As is smart on offense.
I was calling for a grant trade for months. Imagine if we couldve swang a trade with him for like Josh Hart or someone similar. What a difference maker that wouldve been

it was clear that jb was complete trash late in the game but joe allowed him to continue jacking horrific shots. a professional coach would have called plays for brogdon, as he was our best player tonight. joe is clueless and allows the “stars” to do what they want, regardless of outcome. joe must go.

I agree partially, but JB was completely gassed in overtime from last night.  He played really really great for most of the game.  It would help if we would let Brog and DWhite initiate offense in those settings at times, just to put JB in his natural position off the ball.

Exactly. This is what a competent coach would do. And Joe simply refused to do anything and was apparently completely fine with JB iso'ing and creating offense by himself, despite the context of the B2B and OT games. It's ridiculous.

Yes, JB needs to know better, but that's primarily the coach's job to recognize that issue and adjust accordingly. He failed our guys by not putting them in the best spots to succeed, especially with how tired they must've been.

He actually played a good game. I just can’t stand his constant complaining ala JT. When he was barking at Mitchell before his freethrows, i kinda knew he would miss the first.

This team brings me no joy right now. Feels like they are incapable of putting together one complete effort.

It was over when grant paid attention to Mitchell and was more concerned with running his mouth. He just is mentally soft

After the Blazers game, we are on a 6-game road trip.

@ATL
@HOU
@MIN
@POR
@UTA
@SAC

Suddenly, those don't look very easy these days. Maybe 2-4?

Forget the refs and everything else. 3/20 on 3's in the 2nd half.

That is your ball game. Another die by the 3. Another lead blown.
I actually thought we got preferential treatment from the refs tonight for some reason. I mean there were like 2 or 3 clear clean blocks by CLE in the 1st half and they were called goaltending LOL.

The way they play down to teams any win on that trip will be surprising. They are so nonchalant about losing games. Likes it’s no big thing.

OMG....winning the entire game, only to choke it away once again...That's the biggest CHOKE JOB I have ever seen....12 point lead with like 2-1/2 minutes to go and they just Disintegrate....Gave up offensive rebounds and missed FTs....Holy crap, what a joke....Kornet Brick 2 FTs...Brown missed 3 FTs and then the biggest choker in Grant.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

The way we’re playing, I’m not even sure the Rockets game is safe.
