I’d sign him just for future potential.  If we can sign him for non guaranteed money for next year.  See how he does in practice this year and next training camp.

Still, I wish we had signed a veteran for that 15th spot, ideally a wing.

In Las Vegas Samanic averaged 16.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.3 blocks per game white shooting 36.8% from 3 and 51.3% overall.

Team sources have indicated that the Jazz are willing to give Samanic a chance this season and that there’s a real shot of him being on the roster this season. His age, height, length and untapped potential are all things that intrigue the Jazz.

I still don't understand why we chose Champagnie over this guy.  I openly preferred a more NBA ready guy than Luka for the roster spot, but if it was going to be wasted on a dumpster dive, why not gamble on the guy who 1) was a first rounder; 2) performed extremely well in the G-league; 3) has some actual NBA skills, although he still needs development?

I believe his contract became $400k guaranteed since he wasn't waived yesterday.  Good for him.
