Reports earlier this morning were that the Clippers had made a strong offer for Kyrie. I wonder what that offer was and why they couldn't beat out the Mavs. The Clippers would have been a much better fit for Irving.

Markieff Morris is reportedly also going to Dallas in the Kyrie trade.

Very good return for the Nets considering the circumstances.  As for the Mavs, Cuban must be really desperate.  Watch him give Kyrie a big 4-year deal and then Kyrie ask for a trade within a season.  Big midseason trades rarely work even when you're not dealing with a grade A flake.

Another team thinking they can gamble on this dude lol Mavs really have no idea how to build a team proper.

I think Cuban has gone downhill since the days with Dirk tbh. And it's not just me, even Mavericks fans/reporters feel the same way. They obviously did well getting Luka in the Draft, but otherwise they haven't done much else right and even recently have not done enough to surround Luka.

The Kyrie move to me feels like it was pressure from Luka to get him another co-star or he'll become disgruntled soon. He might still become disgruntled from the Kyrie toxicity, but DAL probably felt it was worth the risk and they probably didn't think there was another star they could realistically acquire at this deadline

You can't win in the playoffs unless you can get defensive stops with the game on the line. With those 2 in the lineup they're not going to be getting many stops.

The Lakers offer reportedly was Westbrook and a 1st round pick. I guess they weren't actually serious in trading for Kyrie.

He’s just a body for 2 players in, 2 players out reasons.

I hope we are making a run at Durant. Still probably wouldn't trade Brown or Tatum.

Can't get him without giving up one of the J's. And I'd give up Brown first if it must

Durant could drop the next bomb by demanding a trade by Thursday.

I’m sorry but both Jaylen & Jayson have reached untouchable status for me. At least in the case of Durant. Maybe league wide.

Exactly

Tatum + Brown are untouchable, period.

Feel like the Nets really screwed themselves with this. Their team was playing very well before KD went down and were only a few games behind the C’s. Brooklyn was looking like a legitimate contender. Durant was reportedly making good progress in his rehab as well and according to Woj, he wanted to play in the ASG.

They should have given Kyrie a 2-3 year extension and tried to win this year. If it didn’t work out, move him in the off-season. Instead they pull the ripcord on the season, got very little in return for Irving and now KD is almost certainly going to want out as their team is no longer a contender. The way they handled this doesn’t make much sense to me. Oh, well…Least we don’t have to worry about the Nets anymore.  :)
