I have only seen this glossed over, and if another thread exists, I apologize.

"Celtics guard Jaylen Brown did not play in Boston’s 109-98 win over the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday due to right adductor tightness. He may not return to the court for another “week or two,” per Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla."

Where did this pop up, I missed it completely.

Might make the Cam Riddish thoughts a little for important.

Joe Mazzula was updating the media before the game, said Jaylen tried to give it a go vs Nets but was sore. Said they'll know more in the next day or two, and that there was no timeline. When asked for clarification said he didn't expect it to be a long-term thing.

The actual timeline he said was "a week or so." But Tim Bontemps misquoted him as "a week or two."

It's January. Rest the heck out of him. No need to rush back.  Thigh injuries are tricky.  Don't want to rush back and reaggravate.

I only caught a glimpse of Tatum's post game press conference last night, and was a little surprised about something he mentioned. The timing was curious. He talked about all the injuries he plays through and doesn't take games off because he loves to play. Was that a subtle jab at Jaylen?

No, he was explaining his poor shooting night.

Tatum says he has tape on his wrist, thumb and his ring/middle finger are taped together. Said he felt uncomfortable tonight, but "I love to play too much to sit out."

Jayson Tatum said he’s dealing with issues on his thumb and ring finger in addition to the wrist he has wrapped since the first game of the season. “I have a lot of [stuff] going on.” He intends to keep playing through it all but suggested that went into his off shooting night.

I’m wondering if it’s a real injury or just back to back talk. He erupted for 41 points vs the Pels and there was no sign of an injury and then he mentioned something about his groin. Now it’s his abducter. With a national TV game against the Nets he needs a real injury to avoid a fine. Just my thoughts.

If JB is out for a week or so, has been reported, I think you’ll know it’s real.

JB has contractual incentives that kick in if he makes the All-Star game — he needs votes and I don’t see him sitting out nationally televised games that can help him.

Injuring your adductor causes groin pain. It's an injury to the muscles on the inside of your thigh.
I'm bitter.

You can simply blame a bad shooting night to just being off. However, it is a little odd to blame it on injuries right after a "big game" and Jaylen sitting out because of a tweek. Like I said, I wonder if it was a subtle (maybe unconsciously) jab.

Adductor, not abductor. Adductor muscles attach to the pelvis, i.e. the groin area; therefore an adductor injury is usually a "groin" injury.

Adductor/groin - same thing.
'I was proud of Marcus Smart. He did a great job of keeping us together. He might not get credit for this game, but the pace that he played at, and his playcalling, some of the plays that he called were great. We obviously have to rely on him, so I’m definitely looking forward to Marcus leading this team in that role.' - Jaylen Brown, January 2021

Or, the injuries were bothering Tatum, so he mentioned them.

Why would Tatum take a jab at Brown?  I think that maybe you're seeing a conflict that isn't there.
