Giannis or Jokic can't go wrong with either one.
Or Luka who's considerably younger than both of them and is playing at a similar level. Our switch-heavy defensive scheme would be the perfect way to hide his defensive limitations. Him and the Jays would dominate the league for the next decade.

Can't go wrong with any of Luka / Jokic / Giannis.
Luka is way too ball dominant to be a good fit with Tatum.  I'd go Giannis followed fairly closely by Jokic and Embiid.  Zion would be 4th if he could stay healthy, but he can't so I can't have him in that group.

Thinking more outside the box, I'd go with Banchero with Mobley not far behind him.

Banchero and Mobley are nice young options if we are looking at building a real dynasty for 10 years.  if I'm looking to start crushing the league immediately, I'd still go Giannis or Jokic.   Luka's an offensive dynamo but a real weak spot on D.

Ja Morant because I think he’s the most entertaining player to watch right now, but the Joker would be an unbelievable addition to this Celtics team

Giannis.   I think he would fit better into the switching defense the Celtics use.

As I said, I'd take Giannis, but was trying to think a bit more outside of the box which is why I mentioned Banchero and Mobley.  They are both big guys and I think they'd be excellent fits with Tatum.  Banchero is a bit more offense oriented while Mobley is more defense oriented, but they are both looking like future All NBA all around talents.  You could build a contending team around either of them as the centerpiece, and they would elevate the Tatum-led team in the present.  Given Giannis' age, I think he is the best answer followed closely by Jokic and Embiid.  And while I don't think Doncic is a great fit with Tatum, he also is probably better than Tatum, so I'd probably take Doncic 4th given his skill and age (since I eliminated Zion because of health).  After those 4 though, I might actually look at Banchero and Mobley.  The idea to supplement Tatum for the next 5 years and then have a guy to turn it over to after Tatum starts aging out, seems very intriguing in this sort of scenario.

I realise these two posts are just in sequence and not necessarily a direct reply, but I thought this was hilarious

There are lots of good options.  For this particular team, I'd say Sabonis would be a great fit.  I also like the Mobley option, although I wish he'd start hitting his threes.

Maybe he was considered beyond All-NBA level?   :D

I get Sabonis is unlikely to make an All NBA Team (though he would have a good shot at 3rd center), but I have a hard time calling a guy averaging just under 19/12.5/7 with a TS% of 68.4 as someone that isn't an all-NBA level player.  Same with young guys like Banchero and Mobley that clearly have All-NBA level talent they just haven't fully matured yet.

I mean Brown has never made an All-NBA team and I think he is unlikely to do so this year as well (Doncic, Mitchell, Morant, SGA, Young, Harden, Irving, Haliburton, Booker, Edwards, Garland, etc. - i.e. lots of competition at guard), but I don't think that he would hypothetically be available in that reduced window.

Short term I think someone like Valanciunas would be a solid fit of a guy that is pretty clearly not an All-NBA level talent.  If I was looking for a bit more offensive pop I'd look at Markkanen or Randle.
