Is it too soon to poke fun at this (and other threads)? For two years in a row, impatient fans freak out prematurely . We didn’t even have to wait for Thanksgiving to see such unchecked anxiety, despite an 11-3 record.
It's still an indefensible decision. Just because the team has been able to play through the mistake doesn't mean it wasn't a mistake.
ESPN has them at #1 today. Instead, let’s focus on how “broken” and “poorly constructed” this team is.
I'm not sure if you're being intentionally obtuse here or not, but just because a team is playing well doesn't mean it's flawless. Teams -- or people, or entities -- overcome / play through flaws all the time. It doesn't mean that those flaws should be overlooked and left unaddressed.
This seems rather obvious to me.
I’m writing to those that were exaggerating how bad things were. Two years in a row people freak out.
If you’re Jaylen Brown and know that your city freaks out a lot, why would you stay? I’d be off to warm weather with measured fans.
By the looks of things, all we have to do is tell Jaylen Boston fans are antisemitic - he'll be rushing to defend them then.
Shots fired at Jaylen? Why?
I like Brown, Tatum, the Celtics, and this current squad. Picking at the scab at our one weakness (Williams hurt) isn’t going to improve anything.
Why are some kings and queens around here so hard to please?
In terms of shots fired at Jaylen, as far as I can tell Kernewek's quip is the only comment on the board regarding JB's most recent pro-Kyrie comments, which can reasonably be read to downplay anti-Semitic actions. One comment out of thousands, while everybody else chose not to go there even though it would have been reasonable to question the remark, hardly seems like the fanbase is hyper-critical of Brown.
For those who missed it:
"I think you are asking for a need to satisfy the common public, and I’m not sure if that is something that Kyrie is looking to do," Brown added. "I don’t think he meant any harm by posting it. Obviously, it came off as insensitive to a lot of people, but Adam came out with a statement, he doesn’t believe Kyrie Irving is antisemitic. Joe Tsai came out and said a statement that they don’t believe he is antisemitic. Those are their words, so he has already apologized formally through his IG post,
"But the comment that Joe Tsai made, which I feel like bothered a lot of people was like, ‘He has more work to do.’ Like, what does that mean? Our society has more work to do, including Joe Tsai. So I’m curious to know what that is, what that means."
(I'm wondering if we'd get a similar reaction from JB if Luka Doncic posted an Amazon link to The Bell Curve. Would JB be fine with the "insensitivity" of it, while telling everybody to clean up their own back yard before criticizing Luka?)
