Back when Danny was chasing superstar trades for the likes of Anthony Davis, Kyrie Irving , Gordon Hayward and Kemba Walker, I was more in favor of building around these two guys, Tatum and Brown. I will admit to expressing doubts along the way about Tatum's heart for battle and Brown's inability to change his bad habit of forcing his offense. I'm not 100% sold yet, but last nite, Tatum looked like a very confident superstar who was ready to win and Brown looked like an all-star level compliment to Tatum. I like that they both put effort into defense because I watch other superstars saving their energy for when the ball is in their hands.
I still think we might need a key rotation piece to get us over the hump, along with keeping our more injury-prone players on the court, but this team looks like a contender for the foreseeable future. They were so enjoyable to watch last nite. Keep up the defense, add some movement to the offense and add some rebounding help and let's go get #18.
