Stole this from Nets Reddit but HAHAHAH

Simmons had an open basket, and he passed out of it again...

But yeah lets trade Smart + picks for him! He's just such a good facilitator and defender!

Lakers after a strong 1st quarter showing, got waxed in the 2nd quarter 45-13. They now trail 71-46 at the half in Portland.  :o

Ben Simmons is soft. I really don’t even enjoy watching him play. May be time for him to retire.

As funny as that would be, I think him draining Brooklyn's salary until 2025 is funnier

The decline of Ben Simmons' performance over the last few years is perplexing to me. It is hard to fathom how a player who once averaged nearly a triple-double could now appear so disjointed on the court before his 27th birthday. The physical abilities and talents are still present, but it seems as though there is a mental block preventing him from reaching his full potential. It is unfortunate to see such a promising player struggle in this way, I really liked Simmons game at one time.

The inability to shoot from basically anywhere is definitely perplexing, but he still does rebound, pass, and play defense at + levels and the Nets are better when he is in the game as opposed to being on the bench.  Certainly incredibly overpaid and would be so frustrating to root for because of his lack of desire to shoot.

Hard for me to understand why Claxton sucks so much at the line.  He seems to have good hands and reasonably soft touch around the rim.  Often those translate to good free throw shooting but not in his case.

It's like his off-hand interferes too much.  Comes out of his hands with side spin, and it's not uncommon for him to miss left or right.

Thunder wins in January:

Celtics
Mavs
Sixers
Nets
Nuggets

(Also some wins vs. lesser opponents)

I’m curious to see how they handle the deadline — will they go get a player on a long-term deal, or will they stand pat?  I don’t see them as sellers.

He was benched down the stretch tonight, even in a clear defensive possession. That can’t really help his confidence. And yeah it was making 12 million a year and a gritty role play he would certainly be easier to root for, but don’t think he views himself like that either.

Jeez, LA's second half rally blew the smokes outta the Blazers and take the W.

Warriors look garbage these days, but for some reason, they like to play tough against the C's.

Hope they completely miss the playoffs, that would be satisfy-ING!

The Dubs really blew that one.  Had 2 fairly decent leads but completely dried up on the O and let Kyrie rinse them on D.

It is interesting (at least to me) to look at the road records of teams right now.  The Celtics are the best on the road but there are only a few team over 0.500 at all, with a few surprises:

BOS  +10 (games over 0.500 on road)
BKN   +6
PHI    +4
NYK   +4
SAC   +2
DEN   +1

Not sure what this means but at a minimum, I think it correlates pretty well with what the best teams are.  With BKN, it mostly represents the team with Durant.  NYK is an outlier but they have played pretty well in stretches.  They are 11-13 at home though.  DEN is clearly a good team and SAC has been good.

MEM (not on the list) is 20-3 at home, 11-12 on the road.  Big difference and maybe an indication that there is some weakness there.  I don't know.  One or the other probably won't sustain.  Either at home will get worse or on the road will get better.  Of the 2, it seems keeping that home pace will be harder to maintain as opposed improving on the road.
