Miracle finish in Atlanta. 180 alley oop out of bounds layup with .5 on the clock. Crazy!

Hopefully the Warriors bring up the energy on Tuesday and treat that as their championship game

The Spurs (without Poeltl) just beat a full strength Heat team, in Miami.

Miami Heat have fallen off a cliff this season.

This Heat team must really be driving Spo nuts.

Their defence is not the best.

Herro & Robinson are poor defenders, Lowry & Oladipo are not the same players physically, so they’re generally average defenders, and when Bam is off the floor they have no rim protection.

They also seem to find it difficult to generate offence outside of iso heavy Butler & Herro.

And yet they beat us a week ago. Miami shows up on the big games. They’ll be a problem if we face them in the playoffs.

But didn't the Celtics beat the Heat as well?

Yup, that’s why I said that Miami team must be driving Spo nuts. Their inconsistency is maddening. They seem to show up only on the big games. The danger with that is if that would be enough to get them to the playoffs.

Meanwhile, the Bucks just lost to the Rockets. This just shows how crazy the NBA season has been. The Bucks had Giannis but Middleton went down with an injury.

Zion living up to the hype this season. 25/7/4 on 60% from the field & 72% from the line in just 32MPG is legit. His efficiency is crazy - near unstoppable inside

He is a physical marvel. Man with both what appears a unique center of gravity and the ability to defy gravity.  The strength is impressive.  I haven’t seen as much of him as most of you (probably) but his size, strength, and skill combination look amazing, as in, I don’t think I’ve seen it before.

Am I correct that the Cs own the Rockets 2nd round pick, protected in the low 30’s (31 and 32?).   If so, good game in 2 ways  for the Cs with Houston beating Bucks.  Rockets need a few wins to get away from that protected range.

Yeah, there are shades of other freak athletes in the way he plays (Larry Johnson, Blake Griffin, Shaq), but his style is unique. Such power and touch inside. Really hope he stays healthy

That’s correct.  We want the Rockets to finish with the 3rd to 5th worst record, and not bottom 2.  Last night’s win was a big one — helps to make up for them losing to the Spurs earlier this week.

Cade Cunningham to have season ending surgery.  Detroit has no hope this season.  I wonder what it would take for them to trade Bogdanovic.  Burks wouldn't be bad either.  Too bad they make so much money making it very difficult for Boston to acquire them.  Too bad we didn't use the big TPE, that salary would be very useful right now.

Sources say that the Lakers recently offered a trade package to Detroit for Bogdanović centered around one future first-round pick with unspecified draft protections attached. The Pistons have to date declined those overtures, sources add, insisting on a fully unprotected future first from the Lakers to seriously entertain a Bogdanović swap. Detroit, in fact, continues to tell interested teams (and there are several) that it wants to keep Bogdanović, who is averaging 21.0 points and shooting 50.8% from the field (43.7% on 3-pointers) as a Piston. – via Marc Stein @ marcstein.substack.com

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Would imagine they eventually sell high on his expiring

Yeah it doesn't make sense to keep him since even if they re-sign him he doesn't exactly fit the rest of the roster's timeline.

What is Los Angeles trading in that trade?  Beverley + Nunn (or Toscano-Anderson + Christie)?

Or maybe it is Westbrook for Bogdanovic, Burks, and Noel.

Could there be a day without speculating about how the Lakers can get better?
