It's interesting that a lot of the reaction on social media, particularly from players, is about whoever released the tape.  For instance, Reggie Miller:

Quote
Reggie Miller: How in DA HELL was that @Draymond Green Jordan Poole video leaked?? That’s an in-house video, man there better be some heads rolling.. Y’all are the World Champs and have an inside snitch?!?!? #SoNotCool

Dang straight. What happens in house, stays in house. We are united together against the rest. Nobody violates the privacy of the house.

The leaker is far more important than some minor fracas.

This is something that can get you thrown off a team (traded, waived) if you are a player and immediately fired if you are not a player.

Apparently Stephen Jackson spoke to Green after the incident and told him to apologize.

Rumor has it that Poole called Green “triple single” and Draymond took exception to it.

https://twitter.com/ClutchPointsApp/status/1578426368819605504?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1578426368819605504%7Ctwgr%5E533d46464b937c69974889d0a5ffe28dbdc48e1f%7Ctwcon%5Es1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fhoopshype.com%2Frumors%2F

Draymond talk all that mess calling players MFs, punks, soft, you name it, and people deal with it.

Triple Single? That's what set him off. Get out of here.  What a weak, cowardly little man.  People are dying out in the streets from the knockout game in NY city and around the country.

That punch literally could have killed Poole or ended his career. If I'm Poole I'm suing Green for big money.

Draymond I lost all respect I had for you. What a clown. Final warning for Green,  one more outburst and I would ban him from the game forever.

And Vermont Green,  I completely agree. The Poole push was just get out of my face so I don't get punched.

And he retreated after that. Awful. The NBA reporters are liars. Wow, shams, have lost credibility.

  • GOT IT!!!
You can kill a person with a vicious swing like that. Draymond has been getting away with stuff for so long he expects to get away with anything apparently. This will end up to his benefit some way just watch. You think he’s going to just sit idly by and accept a suspension?

The Golden State Warriors are taking "every legal course of action" to discover how video of Draymond Green punching Jordan Poole during a scuffle at practice Wednesday was made public, sources told ESPN.

Quote
Sources told ESPN that the Warriors have been "aggressively investigating" both the incident and the release of the video.

Quote
The Warriors are still in the process of disciplining Green, but Myers said before the video was released that he did not expect Green to miss any games due to punishment.

"These things happen. Nobody likes it, we don't condone it, but it happens," Myers said Thursday. "Draymond apologized to the team. Jordan was there in the room. ... As far as any suspension, punishment, fine, we will handle that internally."

Seriously the team is more worried about who leaked the assault video then draymond assaulting a teammate.  I hate green and he should absolutely get suspended.  I hate the whole it happened In practice so it's the teams responsibility to handle it.  This was ugly.

These things do not "happen". When was the last time somebody gave a teammate a haymaker at practice?

here is a run down of some that were actually reported.  I suspect it happens a lot more frequently than is reported.

To the best of my knowledge it was Bobby Portis punching Mirotic. And he was suspended 8 games for it. The Warriors management has no spine.

Hypocrites and bull. How do "these things happen" as if it happens on a daily basis? So am I to believe that Draymond is swinging at Poole and other players EVERYDAY in workouts and practice? Cuz something like that can actually kill someone. Look, I'm not a Poole fan nor do I like him but that was str8 assault man.

Jeez Myers, better take action and suspend DG.

As for the release of video...no comment. The fact that they're way too focused on finding out who released the video shows how much they prioritize player safety and such. This seems frustrating and why am I fed up over another team's issues lol

It should be pointed out that Mirotic wound up in the hospital after the Portis incident.  I’m not sure these things “happen” that frequently, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if teams had to deal with this every other year or so.  Poole isn’t hurt, they move on.  Whether or not that’s the right decision. I’m not sure, but I also do t think this is something unique to the Warriors.  What is unique is that it got out.

Shoving matches and a half hearted punch, sure. Let’s not pretend teammates are frequently throwing punches that connect or he players head and knock him down. That’s a pretty ridiculous concept. We all heard about this and we don’t normally
Hear about it.

Green is a bully who deserves to be knocked out himself...He actually threatened Cedric Maxwell and Gary Payton after one of The Finals Games this past season...Now he attacks his own teammate.

GSW worried who leaked the tape is absurd.

The Warriors leaked the tape. Good way to justify moving on from Draymond instead of overpaying him for past performance.

DG antics has cost the Warriors at least one title in 2016, they’ve had enough at this point

Jordan Poole is a pro athlete 6’4” - bigger and stronger than most people. But his head is just like yours and mine. DG is about as big and strong as it gets. A full blow from a guy like that to a head can kill.  Certainly can cause a concussion or badly damage a face.  2020’s is where we are - we can’t punch people in the head because we’re mad. And if you own a 6’6”  240 pound body of muscle you have to have some awareness of what you are capable of.
