Draymond may get suspended

I watch that video and I see Poole pushing Draymond but really more to get out of his way.  He clearly retreated.  He posed no threat to Draymond whatsoever.  Draymond pursued him and assaulted him.  Forget hostile work place or whatever, that seems criminal to me.

Even at work, if I did that, I would already have been fired.  Not suspended, not reprimanded, fired.  And if the other person chose to press charges, I likely would be arrested as well.  The same rules don't apply to athletes.   

GSW have a real problem here.  I don't see how they can tolerate this in any way.  This was not just a dust up between two players.  Not sure contractually what their options are.  Did Draymond breach his contract?  Is there a conduct detrimental to the team clause or anything like that in these contracts?  Are they just going to suspend him and require some anger management classes?  I wonder, do the players and coaches even want him back?

I am not sure how good Draymond is anymore.  You put up with his act and balance the positives with the negatives but as time goes on, the positives diminish so the negatives are more apparent.

In the playoffs last season (he missed about half of the regular season but had similar numbers to the playoffs) he put up 8 pts, 7 rebs, on 20% 3P%.  Now he did get around 6 assists and plays good defense still but overall, I am not sure he is that much better than Grant Williams at this point.  He is under contract for $25.8M this season and $27.6M next.

It seems that the team and the coaching staff are still OK with Draymond but to me the act is getting old.  There was a time where Draymond being Draymond was good for the team.  Not sure that is still the case.  I don't know the details of this incident but it doesn't sound like Curry and Kerr are defending Draymond.  They seem to be more defending Poole and Draymond is getting suspended.  Don't see how this case of Draymond being Draymond is helping the team in any way.

I can't figure out how but wouldn't it be great to have Draymond traded to the Lakers for Westbrook?  Let these guys mess up two teams.  Or maybe somehow to the Suns for Crowder and Saric and something.

I agree with the Comparisons to Grant williams- One thing I will give Draymond credit for - he was Pushing the Rock like crazy in the Finals. he's not an offensive threat at least not a consistent one.  he does a lot of things that don't show up in the score box- he also yells at guys and makes dude accountable but he comes off  bully and someone who lacks self control. Swinging at Pool like that shows Poole was in his head big time. he needs to get suspended if that punch connected Poole could have been in Concussion Protocol.

Apparently Stephen Jackson spoke to Green after the incident and told him to apologize.

Rumor has it that Poole called Green “triple single” and Draymond took exception to it.

That's pretty bad. Can't see how Green isn't fined or suspended. I would not even resign Green. Poole is supposed to be part of the future and  Green is a guy past his prime and is likely driving guys out. Heck trade Green now if you get decent value, don't risk players walking or worse getting injured in practice by the guy.

Yeah that was straight up assault.  With the video out, GS has to absolutely suspend him right?  Or even maybe the NBA suspends him.  Just nuts.

Seriously though, whatever was said didn’t need that level of escalation even after the shove from Poole. Draymond was up in his face and the push was justified imo.
 He just flipped a switch, and is really lucky he didn’t break anything or catch Poole the wrong way where he fell and hit his head, could’ve been much worse.

It will be really interesting how it’s handled by GS, I doubt he gets more than a nominal fine and a week or two in the naughty corner though.

Since it doesn't deal with Boston sports, no one gets suspended and DG gets off clean for that assault. Literal assault.

That’s a bad look for Reggie.  Isn’t he an employee of TNT?  I’m guessing he’s gonna have to back track a little bit.  I understand there are things that should stay in house, but the guy was assaulted.  Draymond is lucky he didn’t do any real damage (that we know of).
