How about Frank Vogel? Has championship pedigree, still in his 40’s. Sounds like Ime is getting a year suspension and if he resigns, the Celtics save face and don’t have to pay him. Not sure there are better coaching options out there…

It’s going to be real hard to find a quality replacement for a single season.

There’s only one man I can see filling in that’s not currently one of our assistant coaches until Ime is allowed back:

Brad Stevens.

Chris Mannix alluded to the possibility of Joe Mazzulla being promoted to HC and Frank Vogel coming in as an assistant.

Apparently Vogel has prior connection with Brad Stevens.

I am bummed that Ainge pinched Will Hardy, I think he’s going to be an amazing head coach.

If that's true, I wouldn't mind him as the head coach.

Guys like Ime, Nick Nurse, Steve Kerr have showed you don't need NBA HC experience to be a good coach for a contender.

You don’t want a coach that won a championship just a few years ago, who has a winning percentage of nearly 60% over the last 3 season. I’d certainly feel more comfortable having someone like that on board vs giving the job to an assistant that has never coached a single game in the NBA.

They didn't want a coach that brought them to 3 ECF in 5 years, with a .618 winning percentage.
They may want the #2 guy that brought this team within 2 games of a chip.
