I think Chicago is actually fairly happy with the develop of the team this year.  They're rebuilding the line and the entire defense.

Yeah, he's safe.  They're started figuring out how to use Fields the correct way and, while the W/L record doesn't necessarily show it, there has been improvement on that team as the season has progressed. 

They finally have some draft capital to use & have an obscene amount of cap space this coming offseason.

The Broncos would be 9-1 if they scored just 18 points in regulation of every game.  They are 3-7 though because they just can't score.  Even their wins they have scored just 11, 16, and 21 points.  They lost to the Raiders scoring 23.  Their other 6 losses have been 16 or fewer points.  This is perhaps the most inept offense we've ever seen through 10 games.  They are just awful and they have a HOF QB in his prime, and they are this awful.  Just stunning.

I have been to three of their games and completely agree about the offense being completely terrible. Some of the worst game I have ever seen in person. The one that is pretty silly here is that russell wilson is in his prime. He definitely isn’t and was much better 2-3 years ago. Mobility is definitely down and his accuracy and arm strength have definitely decreased.

I think QBs like Brady, Brees, Rodgers, the Mannings a a few others have made people think that the new prime for QBs is deep into their 30's. But I think that faulty thinking, especially now and possibly going forward as running QBs become more prevalent.

First, those guys are statistical outliers. All-time greats tend to be. But there's a reason why Max Kellerman thought Brady's game was going to fall off a cliff so many years ago, it's because that's kinda the norm. Most QBs primes don't extend much past the very early 30's.

And with running QBs, who tend to get pretty beat up and not have really long careers, I don't think age 33/34(Wilson is just days away from turning 34)and beyond is a reasonable expectation for them still being in their prime.

It's probably best to look at things on an individual basis. For Russell, I think there's been a noticeable decline in his game the last two seasons, which makes sense since the prior 6-7 years, his actual prime IMHO, he took an absolute clobbering being the most sacked or nearly most sacked QB in that time frame. Add to that the hits he took running the ball, and it's understandable his game is starting to see a very real decline.

Wilson was a Pro Bowl QB last year and he closed the year very well after coming back from injury.  He absolutely is in his prime, or should be.  That doesn't mean he is at his peak, he is not, but he has fallen off a cliff as rapidly as any QB in history, and he is still just 33.  He isn't in his upper 30's when you might see a rapid decline (sort of like Rodgers). 

You don't trade 3 1st round picks and then pay someone 200+ million if he isn't in his prime.

That is true, but Mac was like the 7th choice, Wilson was not. 

Wilson had a QB Rating of 103 last year.  He had 25 TD's and just 6 INT's.  His completion percentage was just shy of 65%.  This is his 11th year.  He hasn't been playing for 15+ years.  He should not look like he has this year.  The last 6 games or so last year, he was excellent (he hurt his finger early in the year and missed a few games and then took a few games to get back on track).

Denver doesn't pay what they did for Wilson for a guy that wasn't in his prime.  He should not be this bad this year.

Tp Nick I almost wrote the same thing as you about how a few older qbs have skewed peoples perceptions of how old qbs play, especially running ones (which players like manning, Brady etc were clearly not). You couldn’t find a fan in denver that thinks he looks to be in his prime. Sure the schemes probably suck and there have been injuries but just discounting the fact that he doesn’t look the same running, is very inaccurate on easy throws etc is pretty ridiculous. He had a solid year last year but certainly wasn’t spectacular and the Seahawks were not devastated to see him go. Some of this stuff just strikes me as people creating an argument for the sake of it. In just about every nfl circle russell wilson not being in his prime is one of the few topics that wouldn’t create a debate right now.

the stats support he was a pro bowl level QB last year and he is 33 in his 11th year.  He absolutely should still be in his prime.  The downside of it, but his prime nonetheless. He isn't Rodgers who is 38 and in his 18th year.

Let’s not willfully ignore the main point of what Nick said. Russell Wilson has more rush attempts by age 33 than Rodgers has in his career (and that would have been true years ago for wilson) I wouldn’t be surprised if he has also taken more hits than Rodgers already by a significant margin. Part of what made Russell great in his actual prime was the ability to extend plays with his legs and occasionally run for first downs. You certainly lose this faster than your arm and not realizing this is kind of showing a fundamental lack of understanding of different qb types. It would actually be pretty darn surprising if Wilson was even playing at age 39.

Arizona Cardinals offensive line coach and running game coordinator Sean Kugler was fired after he groped a woman in Mexico City over the weekend, sources told ESPN.

Mexican authorities were notified of the incident, which happened Sunday night, and then informed the Cardinals, who terminated Kugler and sent him back to Arizona on a flight Monday morning. The Cardinals had arrived in Mexico City on Saturday.

Kugler is the second Cardinals assistant coach to be accused of assaulting a woman this year.

In May, former running backs coach James Saxon turned himself in to Indiana police after assaulting a woman in her Indianapolis home. He was sentenced in October to one year in jail, which was suspended, and given one year of probation.

I think Saleh is a good coach and should be extended. They are building a nice defense and have good young offensive talent. Cut cord on Wilson quickly and find an adequate passer. They could and should be better.

Or keep Wilson. I’d love to see that guy 2x a year.

I think the Pats should draft another QB relatively early. Have Mac, Zappe, and that kid push each other in training camp and be willing to move on if Jones doesn’t impress.
