The NFC south will have a division winner who is 7-10 lol

How lame is it that the Bucs are in first place in their division at 4-5 and the Pats are last in their division at 5-4? Brady definitely lucking out this season.

For me, this is more confirmation that division winners shouldn't get automatic playoff berths. Being the least-crappy team in a crappy division shouldn't mean getting a playoff spot.
How do you balance the schedule? 15 in conference games, programmatically home and away, and two out of conference games?

I hadn't thought that far, LOL. I just think that the best teams in any given season should be the ones who make the playoffs. And I know that "best" can be subjective, but generally speaking, if we're going by records, I don't want to see a 9-8 team make the playoffs and an 11-6 team miss. If a 9-8 team is a division winner, it's probably not a great division, so winning that division isn't much to celebrate, IMO. Certainly doesn't deserve a playoff spot.
Depends, historically the Patriots are great, for instance finishing 13-3, the next best team is the Dolphins 9-7. Flip the 2 games the Pats won they're both 11-5.

So this might be some serious news.

If people saw the ending of Bills-Jets yesterday, they probably noticed Josh Allen looked a bit uncomfortable and was sort of grabbing his elbow/arm. Well reports today seem to indicate he has some sort of UCL injury and it's also affecting "related nerves" to the area. That doesn't sound good, but they are still doing tests and it sounds like we'll hear the severity of the injury tomorrow.

FWIW, Allen did have a UCL injury in 2018 and missed 4 weeks, and typically a UCL injury has a 4-6 week timeline BUT there's also the possibility it'll require surgery or there's other issues too which might even mean Allen misses the rest of the year.

Basically, Josh Allen could be out for a while unless he gets better news tomorrow from the tests

If he's out 4-6 week...then their playoff hopes could be in jeopardy nevermind home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. Got the fearsome four in the AFC East with a set of 6-3 teams and a 5-4 Patriots. And then ya got the Chargers and Bengals on their tail.

Tho I do wish Josh Allen a healthy recovery...seems like a good dude. Prefer him over Patrick Mahomes.

Great news for Josh Allen!

So it's likely a UCL sprain (tiny tear). Maybe he misses a week but he can definitely play through that.

Worth noting that even after his injury, he still threw a 70-yard bomb on the last play of the game on 4th down, so if he could throw it that far and with that strength maybe it wasn't serious after all (like "season-ending")

I get that this is what the report is stating but he was just throwing the ball when he suffered that strain or "tiny" tear.  What was different about that throw that resulted in a tiny tear that makes them think it isn't going to tear again on another throw?  My reading reveals that this is a wear and tear type of injury.  It results from overuse.  Usually related to athletes who throw something.  But if he just keeps throwing, that is more wear that could lead to more tear.

If I was a Bills fan, I would be very concerned.  It seems like any throw could be his last for the season.

Most likely it's a pain tolerance situation and as long as Allen can cope with the pain he won't cause additional major damage and can have a procedure in the off-season to repair it.

If they are at the point where he needs surgery in the off season in any case, I guess I could see them saying go ahead and keep throwing.  But it seems that more damage could be done if he keeps throwing.  Creating more "tiny tears" or turning tiny tears into bigger tears.  Maybe it is the same surgery in any case, I don't know.  I would expect that they feel very sure about this or they wouldn't risk their franchise QB.  But this is the elbow of a man who throws and gets tackled for a living.  Whatever level of damage there is was done just by throwing.  So if throwing can cause damage, more throwing seems like it could cause more damage.

His Passer Rating in the Jets game was 48, worst of the season,  2 interceptions, no TDs.  Hard to know if the elbow was already bothering him or not.  Maybe the Jets defense is just really good (hmmm).  Maybe just a bad game.  Or maybe your elbow being a little sore makes it just a little harder to throw.  I admit, I am totally speculating.  We'll see.

Allen dealt with an injury to the UCL in his right elbow during his rookie season and missed four games. He has not missed a game since.

"There's some slight pain," Allen said after the game, "but we'll get through it."

Before the injury, Allen was going through a rough stretch. In the past six quarters stretching to halftime of the win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 8, he has zero touchdown passes, four interceptions and has completed 47.9% of his passes.

Long season left but assuming Josh Allen is out and the Bills lose to the Vikings, then all of a sudden things actually become interesting all over the place.

BUF would be 6-3 and behind the Dolphins and Jets in the AFC East standings due to head-to-head tiebreakers (unless if MIA loses to Cleveland this Sunday).

Obviously KC then is the new 1 seed unless they lose to JAX. Idk the other tiebreakers but they'd have the same record as TEN and BAL too.

That Jets loss could be vital just like the Bills' surprising loss to the terrible Jags last year which probably cost them homefield advantage to KC. Especially if Allen misses more time than just this week. I still think BUF will be fine, but it's not as certain anymore.

Has there been a bigger disappointment this season (individually) than Kyle Pitts? He’s essentially getting half the yards per game he did last season as a rookie

Well, he does have Mariota as QB, which isn't much to work with.

There is that, but last year Matt Ryan wasn't a world beater either
