That went bad fast. I had a good initial idea for two step path to Kobe but was wrong with a player choice who didn't overlap. A different young guy would've worked but ... I kept going in a bad direction.

I went LeBron thinking LeBron played with those young guys before they were traded to New Orleans for Anthony Davis + that those young guys (Kuzma, Ball, Ingram) overlapped with Kobe's last years. I picked Kuzma which was dead wrong and I had fierce trouble after making that mistake.

However, I could've picked D'Angelo Russell who is playing with LeBron now and played with Kobe during Kobe's last season. That was the winner on this line of thinking. So solid idea but wrong young guy. Kobe never played with Kuzma, Ingram or Ball but he did play with D'Angelo Russell.
