Actually feel Cousins might fit out needs better now. A big that can score a bit. Does anyone know if Gall is out the entire season does his salary count against the cap

I’m signing cousins and Melo. Kick Kornet to Maine and let Hauser be a ball boy. The needed a big before Gallo got hurt.

Everyone assumes Mello. I’m thinking Jabari Parker more likely.

Why?  Carmelo is better in every facet of the game.

Parker better rebounder and younger. Both subpar defensively. Mello certainly better scorer. I doubt Mello wants to join Celtics. I think Jabari would jump at chance.

Yes, it counts against the cap.

We can apply for a Disabled Player Exception, with which we can sign a guy to a 1 year deal, or trade for an expiring contract, worth up to half of Gallo's salary.

The team may be able to collect insurance on Gallo, but that doesn't off-set salary cap / luxury tax.

The only way his contract comes off the books is if this is a career-ender.  Then, there's a process everybody would have to go through.

There is nobody on the bench that can fill Gallo’s minutes and rotation spots. Not any of the scrap heap summer league signings, no camp guys, not Hauser, not Kornet, not Thomas.

Boston needs a proven guy that can actually contribute and isn’t just an empty uniform.
How do Dwight and Carmello get along?

Smart 32, White 16
Brogdon 30, Brown 8, White 10
Tatum 23,Brown 25
AL 6, Tatum 12, Grant 24
RWIII 28, 20

That's 8 with nobody playing more than last year. And only 6 mpg available.
Screw LeBron guys, come to Tatum town and win a ring.

Parker is awful. Guy would be more of what they have. They need someone to contribute not be a body. Gallo was 14 plus points off the bench. Now that is missing. Parker would give you like 3 points a game at best.

Sign Carmelo and Whiteside.  They both thrived on Portland together.

I’m not trading white. He’s insurance if smart or brogdan have to miss time.

It’s probably gonna be Melo, with playing time now being a non issue (as compared to if Gallo was healthy). Markkanen would be a nice target but that’s probably gonna cost us a first rounder or more. His $16M salary could also be a problem given our already massive payroll. Let’s see how Brad reacts to this awful news. I feel really bad for Gallo and his dad. Both were really excited to come to Boston.

Sucks. But I can't help but wonder, is the ACL injury on top of the meniscus tear or in place of it due to misdiagnosing the injury?
