With injuries to both Gallinari and RWill, that essentially means that our two 2-way contracts are going to start the season as active on the NBA roster filling in (I would think). That means our active roster for the start of the season is currently (Assuming Vonleh makes it, just guessing Griffin maybe starts):
Smart Pritchard Davison (2W)
Brown White
Tatum Brogdon Hauser
Griffin Gwilliams Kabengele (2W)
Horford Vonleh Kornet
(RWill and Gallinari inactive)
I am actually fairly comfortable with Davison in a position where he might actually play, less so with Kabengele. When RWill comes back, it is easy to just send Kabengele to Maine. Not sure we need to worry about Gallinari coming back, in spite of the reporting today. The remaining slot does seem open to a SG type or a SG/SF hybrid. It could also look like this:
Smart White Pritchard
Brown Brogdon Davison (2W)
Tatum Hauser
Griffin Gwilliams Kabengele (2W)
Horford Vonleh Kornet
The need ends up being about the same. If another decent vet big becomes available, just cut Kornet.
Until Rob gets back it is going to take some coaching
Smart 32, White 8, Pritchard 8
Brown 12, Brogdon 19, White 17
Tatum 12, Brown 21, Houser 8, Brogdon 7
Grant 26, Tatum 22
Horford 28, Griffin 12, Vonleh/Kornet 8
Smart 32
Brown 33
Tatum 34
G.Williams 26
Horford 28
Brogdon 26
White 25
Griffin 12
Pritchard 8
Houser 8
Vonleh/Kornet 8
Kornet/Vonleh 0
? 0
R.Williams III 0
Gallanari 0
Kabengele 0
Davison 0
When Al is out on back to backs the other of Vonleh/Kornet is going to play.
You can try to increase minutes to eliminate a guy from the rotation, but I don't think we want to play anyone much more than my guess.
