I hope that he is all the way back. My concern is, he wasn’t stellar before the injury. Even if he loses only 5% of his skill, strength and athleticism, is that an NBA player anymore?

I love Baynes as much as anyone, but I can't quite justify the risk. He was injury-prone before the horrible spinal injury, his three point shooting dropped ~10% in his season at Toronto, he hasn't played serious minutes since the Olympics, and he turns 36 in December.

The fact that he has come so far as to schedule a workout for NBA teams, makes this a great story. I wish him nothing but the best.

I'd love to have Baynes back.
I remember him being much more effective for the Celtics than, I guess, Roy does.
I see him as being exactly the type of player this team needs - some interior muscle.
All of this, of course, depends on his physical health.
Whether he is able to play again or not, I hope the best for him.

I think he was really bad in Toronto after he left the Celtics. So the reservations may be due to his decline from before the injury and than the health risk on top of that. But for me it is possible that like Theis or Horford to some extent, the fit with the Celtics elevates the level of play of some players and we’d hope that Aron is one of them. I want someone to battle Embiid and he’d be great for that role, if healthy and in shape.

Pass. He’s old and injury prone. Not sure Cs should be adding another injury prone big man to and already questionable (health wise) big man group.

I'd sign him as a coach as I think he could positively affect the team, but I wouldn't want to take up a roster spot on him.

I think the question is, can he give us what Theis gave us, and is there anyone better available, especially for the cost? I think he's a low risk, good locker room guy who likely can provide most of what Theis did. At worst he is limited from his injuries and we cut him mid-season when other centers become available.
