Setting aside the emptiness of the sports hype machine, we can all understand from our own working lives that there are things that bother us about any job, but that is quite a bit different from blowing it up and going somewhere else. Hopefully, Jaylen has watched as a substantial number of superstars have opted out of their situations. The results do not indicate that it is likely you will find what you want, and even if you do, it may not make you happy. Look at Kevin Durant as an example.
I do think the team needs to look at how they use him. Ime made progress where Stevens didn't in a number of areas, but one thing he did little to fix was addressing Jaylen's role, which remains schizophrenic. He can score 25 in the first half, then barely touch the ball in the second. Generally, his scoring occurs in one or two 5 minute bursts and then he stands in the corner while Tatum and Smart dominate the ball.
Since he is not a primary ball handler, often he is completely frozen out for a quarter or a half. He has a very strange shot pattern. He gets consistent shots every night, but they have a very odd distribution.
One of the reasons the 80's Celtics were so dominant was that Bird managed ball and shot distribution like a maestro. If Parish or McHale went too long without the ball, he noticed very quickly and fixed it. We don't have a player that does this stuff, and we don't have coaches that do it either.
