Never ever make an offer for Kevin durant

Some years ago as team who was missing a piece or two to content made an offer to Kevin durant.. he made a choice going to a warriors team to win some rings.. he chose the easy path.. when he got his rings he abandoned them to be... the gm of the nets forcing them to all the wrong moves.. he signed another max contract and now wants out and demands to be traded and picked  destinations making nets front office life even more difficult...
And this guy some celtics fans want him on our roster...... if the celtics front office has any pride they would never make an offer...never..
Bird pierce kg had egos.. but they used it for their teams sake... we don't need a durant paying this .... at the age of 38..

I like Durant more than most. I think he's terrific.

But I think the Celtics have the best team in the NBA next season without him so I'm not breaking up the J's to make the team, like, 3% better.

You can pay him more than any other team, and I expect this team to be in contention the next two years.

Players very rarely leave the team that drafted them, can pay them the most AND is a contender.

Unless he secretly REALLY wants to play in some glamour market, ala Kawhi,  then I'm not really worried.

I agree, it would be so much more fulfilling to win it with Jaylen. Especially given we've gotten to watch him grow into the star he is now and how close they were this year. A ring or rings with Durant would be strictly business. I'm sure us fans would still celebrate and maybe it wouldn't take anything away from the euphoria and pride of Banner 18 and beyond, but I think it would. On the other side of that, Durant would essentially give us a cheat code to the finals and if we were to square off against GS again, you know he would be playing for vengeance. I think our team as constructed (or at least by the time Brad is done this offseason) is good enough to get us back to the finals and put us in position to win. There will just be more nail-biting I believe without Durant. Particularly in getting past the Bucks. The other benefit to grabbing KD is that it prevents him from going to Miami, or worse yet, Golden State. If they were able to get him back with a package of their young players, that would be bad. It might also make them an even more hated team then when they first had him. So many conflicting feelings on this one. Either way it is going to be one heck of an exciting season!

This. I’ve been having night sweats ever since I heard JB say the other day that he consults with Kyrie and vice-versa. There are obviously risks with KD, but I like those odds better. He’s a man who has a legacy to build and that can only be built with more titles. Who better to try doing that with than JT, the young/strong/future version of KD? No-brainer for all involved, really, if JB/Batman/Pritchard/picks/swaps is better than any other deal on the table for Brooklyn (I suspect it is).

I just plain do not like Kevin Durant. Going to Golden State immediately after losing to them in the playoffs was pathetic. He is a mercenary who eventually finds reasons to be a malcontent in whatever team situation he is at. He is petty and takes offense at any imagined slight. He will do the same thing in Boston if he were to end up here. Worst of all, trading core players to get him would do serious damage to the very good chemistry we have worked hard to build.

I want us to keep and re-sign Jaylen Brown as well but if he's is strait up with management that he plans on leaving in 2 years and if we trade him now we can maximize his value and acquire Kevin Durant to form the greatest shooting wing pairing in league history, I think that you have to do that.

All for keeping Jaylen for the young dynasty factor but in terms of a replacement, you could realistically do no better than Kevin Durant on a 4 year contract.
