I’m a fan of Thomas Bryant. He plays hard and has a great motor. He’d be terrific off the bench to back up Timelord. Sometimes you just need energy guys who can bring the intensity of the team up

I'd consider the big men rotations to be set now: Timelord, Bryant and Horford share time at the 5.  Horford, Gallo and Tatum share time at the 4.

Would love this addition. He is young and was improving. Come on Brad, make the trifecta happen today!

Jalen Smith is still out there also.  I can see that the Celtics would be more attractive to Bryant than Smith but I would like to see them bring in a "take a chance on" type of big to add to this roster.  I would be fine with either of these guys and there are probably some others as well.

I don’t think there’s a realistic way to add Smith is there?

Biyombo would be a good alternative at center.

A defense / rebounder only athletic option.

Free-agent Thomas Bryant is reportedly putting the Lakers on hold as he waits to make his final decision on which team he plans to sign with in NBA free agency this summer. According to Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times, the Lakers offered Bryant a veteran’s minimum deal, but the 24-year-old is also considering the Toronto Raptors, who have also shown interest in signing him.

Earlier in the day, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports linked Bryant to the Celtics as well.

Probably waiting to see what the Lakers do with Kyrie.  Not sure how Toronto would be a good fit.  It seems to me the Celtics are the best fit (I admit to the possibility of having some bias).  If he resurrects fully, he could be Horford's long term replacement.  A core rotation slot on a team expected to contend for titles for several years to come.  In the meantime, no pressure to produce immediately, just work on your game, strengthen the knee.  If he starts playing well sooner than expected, we just trade Gallinari or Grant and free up more minutes.

No. He re-signed with IND yesterday.

Jalen Smith signed a 2 year / $9,573,828 contract with the Indiana Pacers,

Yeah, he was available back on Jul 1 but not now.  Signed for more than we could have offered after we used the MLE on Gallinari.  No biggie.

He’d have been a better fit than Gallo IMO. I wonder if we had an “understanding” with Pacers to lay off offering him MLE during our negotiations for Brogdon?

I think it’s more simple:  good teams didn’t trust Smith.  They pegged him as closer to what he showed with the Suns than the Pacers.

Who would you rather have on Celtics, Gallo or Smith?
