Celts interested in Thomas Bryant per Chris Haynes.

That same tweet said that he is receiving interest for contending teams like the Lakers and Celtics ...

Lol. One of these is not like the other.

Would he sign for the minimum?  The Lakers don't have their MLE, correct?

For the minimum I'd be all-in.

Size and skill matters in the playoffs. He'd be an upgrade over Kornet if he could get back some of the rim protection from before he got injured.

Yeah, the Lakers have used their MLE on Lonnie Walker, so I'm absolutely fine with Bryant at the minimum.

Lonnie Walker IV is a strange fit on the Lakers. A big PG who can't shoot or be effective off the ball.

What are they doing? Doubling down on the Russell Westbrook problem? Why have 1 PG who can't shoot when we can have 2 PGs who can't shoot?

Bryant was on an all star potential trajectory a few years back (around 2019-2020).  He was showing he could be an athletic big who could shoot (40%+ 3P%).  Then some serious injuries came.  He finally got back on the court at the end of last season (27 games) and the few times I saw him, he was not nearly the same player.  Actually looked kind of lost, which may not have had anything to do with his knee.  It was like he forgot how fast the game was, where he was supposed to be on the court.

He is only 24 (will be 25 at the end of July) so plenty of career left if he is healthy (big "if").  Definitely worth a look on a min contract but not sure if that will do it.  Maybe even part of MLE if other options don't pan out.
