The NBA's salary cap for the 2022-23 season is projected to come in at roughly $123.6 million, sources told ESPN. That is an $11.6 million increase from last year's salary cap figure of $112 million.

That will lead to an upward shift in the projected luxury tax, as well.

Washington is finalizing a trade to acquire Denver's Will Barton and Monte Morris for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Ish Smith, sources tell ESPN.

Glad we’ll only see Ish twice next year instead of 3-4 times.

First thang I thought too…..he plays like a five time al star every time against Boston.  You ‘d think he is better than Curry , if you only watched him play Boston.

Bradley Beal has declined his $36.4M option and will become a free agent. That means he can sign a 5-year max to return to the Wizards or sign elsewhere on a 4-year deal on per Woj

Should kill any Beal to Boston delusions. Our best bet to get him would've been an opt-in and trade.

Did anyone still have those?

For those who want to maintain the delusion, Beal will get his 5-year, $251 million max from the Wizards this year.  The Wizards will again be mediocre, because they are the Wizards and Bradley Beal is not a good enough player to elevate a not very good team beyond mediocrity, and Beal will ask for a trade next offseason, owed roughly $205 million over four years.

Beal just comfortable playing out his career with a mediocre team that’s going nowhere.

Reminds me of the Rainier Wolfcastle line from the Simpsons.

I wonder how many times Beal has been ticketed out of Washington just to end up stay? That franchise has done zero to show him they want to win. Not even sure beal cares about winning at this point.

But like you said…he sleeps on a pile of money.

The Sacramento Kings are declining to offer Donte DiVencenzo a qualifying offer, which will make him an unrestricted free agent, sources tell ESPN. There will be significant interest in DiVencenzo on the open market.

There are different ways to define success. One of those ways is making a guaranteed 250 million dollars over 5 years.

Hard to fault him.
