Started watching Peaky Blinders again. Tried years ago, but couldn?t get into it.

I did the same thing a while back. Had watched a couple episodes and didn?t get into it and tried years later - about a year ago. I stuck with it and was glad I did.  Very good series.

Department Q on Netflix.

It starts out strong, gets a little convoluted, but is still very good for the detective genre.

I'm watching it right now...different kind of show but it keeps me interested.  Accents are pretty strong and it's hard to follow some times.

Yeah, the Scottish is thick.  I watched with subtitles on.

Just finished last night.  Very well done.  They even did a nice job with all of the ?hey what about that part?? loose ends at the end.  Looks like they?re well set up for another season.  The Syrian character whose name escapes me as I type, was great.
Yup

Took me about 4 episodes to get into it. Finished season 1 over the weekend. Not bad.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

My wife introduced me to Shrinking on AppleTV. I think it is a fantastic show...funny, well-written and great actors.

Really enjoyed Dept. Q on Netflix.  Hoping for a season 2 announcement.  Excellent detective work.

Finished season one of True Detective. It was excellent.

That one was great.  Kind of tailed off fast until they did the one with Jody Foster in Alaska.

Started watching season 4 of The Bear.  It?s pretty much recycled regurgitation of restaurant stress at this point, but I?ll see it through out of obligation.

Also, been watching The Rig.  Fairly mindless action muster disaster scifi-ish.  Some decent actors thrown into a script that?s hard to not seem overly dramatic.  The visuals are cool and I kinda want to find out what happens, and sometimes that?s all my brain needs after a long day.

Stick (Apple TV) is really enjoyable.

It definitely is recycled, with a "haven't we seen this before" vibe.  I'm through four episodes in the new season.

But, I still watch it out of enjoyment rather than obligation.  The actors are wonderful, the characters are great, and scenes are beautifully directed, and it's got a great soundtrack.  Even recycled, I enjoy it more than 90% of the stuff out there.

For instance, The Waterfront.  I just binged through that, and I found it all to be empty calories.  It's a new show, but I still found it all to be warmed over recycled nonsense.  Like it was Bloodline, without any of the things that made Bloodline great and a lot of the stuff that made Bloodline go off the rails.

I liked The Rig! Its not "prestige television" but not everything has to be. Solid enough actors and interesting premise.

For really crappy, mindless TV, my wife and I have actually enjoyed some of CW shows. There is Wild Cards which is one of those detective shows where the girl is a con artist helping solve crimes. Awful acting and some unbelievable scenes, but it's also entertaining enough to keep us watching. The kind of show that with a bigger budget, they would be able to get better actors, screen writers and directors and the show would be a hit because the basic premise works.

We also just started watching Holmes and Daughter that is basically with an older Sherlock Holmes and a girl that claims to be his daughter ends up being his assistant. Entertaining enough to keep us watching. For the Summer, we can't really get into the big shows so these are good ones for us.

So the best season is already over. Ugh.  :P
