Last of Us last night?wow!!!!!!!!

Knew that was coming, but thought it would be later on in the season. I think the show will go downhill. Hope I?m wrong, though.
I don't rate the series that highly to begin with and it is hard to see how it can avoid going downhill now. There's a big void to be filled and the existing options aren't good.

What more did they have to bring you from the Joel storyline? Absolutely nothing. Now there?s a whole new plot of seeking vengeance for Joel and there will still be plenty of Joel/ellie flashback story.
[/b]

That?s fair. I?m just not sure the show will be good without Joel.

I guess it?s more missing Pedro Pascal than missing Joel for me. But you can?t fall too much in love with characters, they all get killed off eventually

Maybe not as good.. But it?s still good. Glad his brother is coming into play now.

Just started watching The Leftovers on HBO Max.  The series started in 2014 and had 3 seasons.  I knew nothing about the show but find myself intrigued with this supernatural drama.  The story is about an unexpected disappearance of a 140 million people that occurred at the same moment around the world.  Three years later, people are trying to deal with the still unexplained circumstances that impacted their lives. I have almost finished the first season, and I am looking forward to more entertainment.  Check it out!

What are your thoughts now that we are several episodes post Joel?

I loved the premise and the first season was very well done.  It lost some momentum after that and strayed quite a bit.  But still some excellent characters and actors.  Worth the watch.

One of things I have a tough time with with any zombie show/movie is when they rely on one the main characters serving based on pure luck too many times.  If they're just an absolute badass and can kill off a hundred zombies with  a nail-spiked-bat I can buy that.  If it it's just dumb luck too many times that gets harder for me to suspend my belief somehow.

That said, I still like the post Joel world and I'm OK with an occasional back story appearance.
Yup

The reporting is that "Part 2" of Last of Us will be spread over three seasons, whereas Part 1 got one season.

I wonder if, in hindsight, they wish they would have given us more of Part 1.

Yikes.  If HBO guaranteed them 3 more seasons, I'm sure the producers are quite happy with how Part 1 went.

Department Q on Netflix.

It starts out strong, gets a little convoluted, but is still very good for the detective genre.

I'm watching it right now...different kind of show but it keeps me interested.  Accents are pretty strong and it's hard to follow some times.

New season of Tires on Netflix. Absolutely hysterical. Standout comedic performance from Thomas Haden Church - a personal favorite of mine.

Yeah, the Scottish is thick.  I watched with subtitles on.
