Sorry to be a debbie downer but I just don't see it specially if BS does not do something bout this line up... its freakin inadequate and tbh had Middleton played in round 2 we could have made it to ECF.

This was the best chance we got tbh but the team miffed it. Ofcourse thru no fault of theirs as the Warriors just exhibited superior offense still trumps good defense and it showed in the Finals.

Not unless our Owner spends the dough he scrimped on this year.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

A lot depends on this offseason. We cannot rest on our laurels - upgrade the team! It's time to spend some money
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Agreed. Wiggins was an outstanding pick up by GS. A former #1 pick he is an athletic wing who can shoot. Exactly what we need off the bench. Also need a true #1.

I don’t agree. The Warriors won the series because their D shut down our offense. Their offense averaged about 105 ppg. Considering we probably averaged 18 turnovers a game that led to lots of fast break points for them, our D played very well. It’s true. Defense wins championships. Just so happened it was THEIR defense.

Wiggins is an All-Star - not necessarily the most accessible type.

Your cheap shot at Tatum is pretty poor form.

Thus why it was a great pick up by GS. They stole him. Are you referring to my comment about Tatum in the other thread? Just giving my opinion about him and stating statistical facts.. I love Tatum. Not a cheap shot at all.

I’ve been wracking my brain, when it comes to evaluating Tatum’s ability to lead this team. Who can name a team to win a title with its top player under the age of 25.

Bird yes. Hard to say that Magic was better than Kareem his rookie year. That could go either way. But that’s rarified air.

Good one. I had assumed Robinson was better at the time but Duncan was better that year. Still, Robinson was a better second fiddle than JB.

Some of the responses on this thread are laughably and preposterously doomeristic. Special sarcastic Tommy point to whoever wrote that the team that just lost in game 6 of the Finals is “miles away from a title”.

No tram is guantanteed a title run in any year — see the Suns and Nets this year, who were a lot of people’s bets to make the Finals — but the Celtics are in better shape that almost every team in the league:

- Top guy is 24, made huge strides this year, especially in playmaking, and was All NBA first team.
- Other top players are 25 (Brown), 27 (Smart), and 24 (R Williams).
- Big TPE and taxpayer MLE to use this offseason. Owners who have shown in the past to be willing to pay for a contender. Can trade all their future picks immediately after this summer’s draft.
- One or the top young coaches in the league, which players on this team — and from other teams — respect.

Who knows who will be playing in the Finals next year? All I know is that the Celtics are in great shape.

You just suggested that brad put feelers for Tatum.

Yea and? Just to see. Not saying to trade him. That's up to Brad not me.
